"Well Hall" - An English Country Dance

Description
It's Swift's Detestable Fidlers with another beautiful ECD tune. My violin was out of commission for this recording, so I had to rely most of the time on the recorders for melody, with some sampled instruments coming in here and there. This is the first of my pieces to feature the fabulous theorbo sample-set by Bolder Sounds!
The theorbo (or 'tiorba' in Italian orthography) was a massive, lute-like instrument used primarily for playing the bass line and lower harmonies in a mixed ensemble. It's a huge instrument - about twice as long as a regular lute, with an additional octave of free bass strings (called Diapasons) on an extended, fretless neck. The whole instrument can be over six feet long!

::Real Instruments::
Soprano Recorder
Alto Recorder
Tenor Recorder
Bass Recorder
Viola

::Sampled Instruments::
(All from Bolder Sounds)
Hammered Dulcimer
Marxophone
Virginal
Theorbo

Enjoy!!

Thanks Feter!
I used the soprano and tenor recorders to play the melody; the tenor, being lower-pitched, of course, is probably the one that sounds 'warmer'. I also played harmony parts on the alto, tenor and bass recorders.

Very nice
I think the violin would have been nice, but the richness of the recorders really makes this recording. Their tones blend so well. Enjoyed it!
