Description
Shortly after Christmas Jerry received some pretty devastating news. I thought making some new music might take his mind of his problems, at least for a little while. So I grabbed my gear and took a ride down to his place. We started the day together having breakfast where Jerry brought me up to date on the more important aspects of what was happening in his life. We then retired to his studio to make some music.
I asked him what he had for me, hoping he had a newly written song we could start on. He replied that he had nothing. Uh-oh, snag! I thought for a moment and then made a suggestion. Several months earlier I had sent him a song idea I had written on slide guitar in open G tuning. Some months later we had also kicked around the idea of doing an acoustic delta blues. Jerry had since sent me lyric ideas he had for such a blues. I suggested we take my changes and groove and adapt his lyrics to fit the demo I had already recorded. Jerry thought that was a fine idea
It didn't take long to adapt Jerry's lyrics to fit the different song form. And coming up with a melody had never been a problem for Jerry. We spent the next hour or two recording his vocal and sax solos. When I got home I did some editing and then set the track aside. There it waited for months. As Jerry spent his time focused on his health, music took a backseat.
Then a few weeks ago I rediscovered the track in my folder of unfinished projects. I realized time was of the essence and I'd better get to work. I reached out to Ryan, John, and Scott for help. Each delivered exceptional performances that helped turn this one into a rocking good time. It's such a cool thing to see a file has been dropped into a shared DropBox folder and then hear how it transforms a track. Once again gentlemen, I thank you all!
To all that have supported our music in the past I also want to thank you. I am learning some amazing lessons lately regarding just how powerful a force music can be in a person's life.

Lyrics
Nothing You Can Say
by Jerry Quinn & Andrew Lack
I ain't leaving,
You can't make me go away,
I ain't leaving,
You can't make me go away,
Gonna sit here drinking,
There's nothing you can say,
I'm gonna sit here drinking my life away,
Tired of all you women,
Can't let this poor man be,
Tired of all you women,
Can't let this poor man be,
Gonna sit here drinking,
You might not like what you see,
I'll be drinking,
And later you can bring my tea,
When the spirit moves me,
We'll see who'll be by my side,
Maybe I won't quit you,
If you keep me satisfied,
But you got your ways,
And baby I got mine,
But you can't quit your nagging,
You couldn't even if you try,
Going out this evening,
Drink the night away,
Going out this evening,
Drink the night away,
Going out drinking,
Baby, don't you bother to wait,
Going out drinking,
And I'm gonna be late
Going out drinking babe,
Can't say when I'll be home,
Don't want nobody with me,
Cause I drink alone,
