Description:
This song is about microchips eating our brains and stuff.

Lyrics:
i think you exist but i cannot say for sure
my world is physically affected by the swinging of a door
and you are physically attractive to those who can't endure
the pain of actual reality you help them to avoid

i was caught up in conversation couple weeks ago
bout what constitutes intelligence and how are we are to know
that the sky's really blue and the latest research shows
we were monkeying around just a million years ago

chorus:
i think i'll die by this light

my wrist is crimped and cramped from manipulating this
wandering arrow that i navigate with
and it needles through my skin and helps me get my fix
when i point it at the screen and proceed to double click

its heart is smaller than pinhead, it's beating all the time
you can view it through a microscope if it's magnified
now i know it is real because the truth it doesnt lie
it is beeping it is bleeding it is feeding me tonite

chorus
i think i'll die by this light

bridge:
doot doot doot doot

this is the place where the battle will be waged
between ambitious binary digits and the neurons they'll replace
for now i am happy i can recognize my face
your unshakable resistance only expedites the change.

it only expedites the change.
it only expedites the change
it only expedites the change
it only expedites the change

I don't understand &mdash 02/20/05 - 08:17:28 PM
the low score and lack of comments for this excellent
song. I think it is funny, simple, pointed and boasts the
shortest chorus I have ever seen. I really like the blend of
acoustic guitar with computer/electronic music. I think it's
a perfect counterpoint. Great piece.

thanks so much for listening and for the kind words. it means a lot to me,
especially since i am am a fan of your music. listening to your december suite
is kind of frustrating to me because i am trying to teach myself how to play in
position, and i spent hours last night learning how play the basic C scale --
and i still can't quite do it without the strings buzzing.

I'm throwing my "ditto" behind mr Atwood. This is a cool song no matter
what, and the little electronic diddles work perfectly against the rhythm
guitar.

Nice songwriting. &mdash 02/21/05 - 10:39:26 AM
I like this tune.

It makes up for a lack of driving rythym (which is my
craving) with it's textures and witty lyrics.

we've all been there...

It begs to be diddled.

Great job for low budget. It transcends it's
limitations as a relatively poor recording to a large
degree.

Fascinating &mdash 05/10/05 - 09:15:29 AM
Great lyrics. And I love the song art, adding a new layer of
wit and meaning. The song writing is solid. Could use a
more developed bridge, a greater departure musically and
lyrically, for a song this long with such a fast and often
repeating chord progression, something that gives a new
twist to this already esoteric text, perhaps something that
reaches out and gives it a simpler context. Cute
arrangement, but doesn't share the same weight as the
words, the same drama; altho it has a whimsical computer
quality. Really nice song concept. Very cool lyrics.
