Description
My wife and I have been battling health issues lately (hip replacement for her and a cancerous tumor for me). We're mending pretty well, but we have been with a lot of medical people lately.

This was a song I wrote and recorded over a two week period, which for me is pretty fast.

Lyrics
The Tourniquet’s Too Tight

Went to the Doc for a sore on my cheek,
Doctor says, “Let’s take a peek.”
Oooooh, the tourniquet’s too tight.

Riding in an ambulance
Why do I think that there’s no chance?
Oooooh, the tourniquet’s too tight.

White coats, blue scrubs, everywhere
Red blood coats my underwear.

Roll me in for an X-Ray
Roll me in for a slice today.
Oooooh, the tourniquet’s too tight.

Get me up once ‘round the ward
Is this a treatment or you just bored?
Oooooh, the tourniquet’s too tight.

Charge me for a nice cool drink
Charge me for the soap in the sink.

Time for a test and an I. V.
Back to sleep now you wanna wake me.
Oooooh, the tourniquet’s too tight.

The doctor's in and he looks me over
I cannot tell if he's drunk or sober
Ooooo, The Tourniquet's Too Tight.

Lead

Accountants and Doctors want their cut
Infusion drugs put me on my butt
Oooooh, the tourniquet’s too tight.

Damaged good when you wheeled me in
Why are you asking who’s my next of kin?
Oooooh, the tourniquet’s too tight.

Too tight, Too tight, Too tight.

The Tourniquet’s Too Tight
Really catchy song with great lyrics, nothing like a personal experience to fire the passion to write. Would make a great single. Such a strong hook.

I'm glad you're both recovering well.

Very best wishes to you both.

Always good to hear from you on Interneut. We are recovering, but would rather not have to recover in the first place.

tighten up
Really like the riff, the funny lyrics about serious topic. It rocks from beginning to end.
I'm in health care so it's always good to get the perspective from the other side.
Really enjoyed it!!

Thanks Relic
It's a tongue in cheek (so to speak) comment on the medical bureaucracy. While there are many great medical people the insurance companies, rules and regulations seem to get in the way of them doing their job.

Anyway, thanks for the nice comments and I'm glad you liked the song.

Sorry to hear about the challenges you and the Mrs. are facing.

Great lyrics, set to a fun rocker, delivered through a killer vocal with nice harmonies. Love those guitars and melodic bass line. Great production and mix! Downloaded!

Medical Rock
Nice song! Love the way you took the lemons that life gave you and stomped on them and kicked them to the side. Love the bass line, nice! Fun lyrics. Keep on rockin away those medical blues.

Belated
Sorry for the late response Bronco. Things just getting better here. My wife will now have to have some surgery on her hip replacement. It's popped out twice this month with two trips by ambulance to the ER to have it put back into place. Next song will be for her.
