Well, this won't be everyones cup of tea but I had a gas doing it! I wrote this based on my friend Casey Golding's new comic strip called Chester Flatts ... the comic is loosely based on his experiences growing up in a small town in the prairies ... where everything is flat ... you know, a place where you can watch your dog run away for a couple of days. This is also my tribute to the passing of a true flat picker ... Doc Watson. A man I admired ... so this was also a chance for me to attempt some flat pickin' ... and for those of you that drop by for a listen you can check out Casey's comic http://www.facebook.com/chesterflatts

This is excellent .......
love the whole thing .....this is how I try to play and always fall short ....I must be doing something wrong !! It sounds okay 'til I play it back ...then horrorshow !! Trilling little banjo flourishes as well ....oh jaws / jews harp ...never did get the proper name of the doohickey and always spranged my teethg with the doi doinger-part,yep this ones a keeper .

so cool, I used to love Hot Rod Lincoln when I was a kid and this just reminded of a whole genre I have not been paying enough attention to. i cannot even tell you how impressed I am by this. it's got it all, a true truckers classic. did you play the guitar and the banjo> seriously awesome.

Terrific
I have no notion of how to pick a guitar like that. How do you stop it from bursting into flame? I was in Clearwater, Fla, near Tampa, and I had a go on a very nice scalloped acoustic guitar that the shop owner said was owned by Doc Watson. I think it was a Taylor or similar venerable guitar. I was terrified I might drop it.

I love bluegrass
