much needed rain after the storm
So good to come back, to find this... love your addition of the well-written snare, and the delicious addition of carefully placed new harmony notes in spots, great voices, and super counter-melody line on recorder at the end. With the bird song at the end, I can feel and smell the steam gently rising off the wooden porch rail after the storm. Very nice, Bill! Thank you for such a masterful work.

	. the ember turned into an umbra, which led to google which led to the title phrase. there's a university in Peru whose motto it is. that in turn led to wondering what transitions from shadow into the sunlight. a thunderstorm! the new pan flute melody is a nod to Peru. perhaps it's a thunderstorm in the Andes? thanks Check out my latest song called RUOK

with a new Ember to the growing collection. I've got 54 versions now in my iTunes playlist - probably one or two missing. Whoever still hasn't heard the original, please go to drakonis' page (link in the description area) and do so. It's still one of the best iterations, although there have been MANY really great takes on it.

Just watching the list would make anyone think it impossible to come up with something new in the "Ember genre", but that thought is fruitless, because all you creative people keep proving it false.

Bill, your (new) version is a nice nod to another of Drakonis' songs and along with the strong introduction it's sure a worthy member of the series.

Unfortunately I've not yet tried my waning musical skills on this piece. Maybe one day...
