I wrote the lyrics and the basic guitar picking for this one several years ago, but never got around to recording it. It's inspired by a print we have on our bedroom wall that fascinates me.
It started as quite an up-beat acoustic number, but it didn't want to be light and fluffy. It wanted to be dark and moody so who was I to argue.
This is what I love about music - it's a living breathing thing and doesn't always want to do what you want it to. Here is what this song wanted to be - I don't think it will be disappointed...

Lyrics
I know where you've been - don't try to hide it 'cos I know that you were seen - down by the coffee shop.
What secrets do you find - within the pages that you read or hide behind - I guess I'll never know
Were you on your own? - or did you wait for him and then he never showed - I guess I''ll never know
Oblivious to time - ignoring everyone - eyes hide from passers by - I guess you'll never know.
The intrigue that you hold - the time I spend with you with you when I'm alone - and that is all I have
And I, I know where you've been ....

Nice guitar work - I like the ringing tone as you strum it and the simple fingerpicking that adds to the ominous tone. When you add the crunchy guitar it builds the tension well. The vocal style works well, too. Much enjoyed!
