You've certainly got an interesting group of musicians together for this one, Les. I like the driving rhythm, the way you build the arrangement and the various sounds you bring in. Fascinating work! I enjoyed listening.

I guess you could call them "interesting." But some of them have the attention span of a gnat. Very difficult to stay on task with these guys. And temperamental ... sheesh. Anyway, I'm glad you liked it.

Love the image. Hard core riffs, head butting flow, the rhythm section is something else. I have to say, I am more than impressed with this. Could this be the start of your insect series? I hope so... Coming in at 2. 53 that has to be a record for you.

Yes, it's no doubt the shortest thing I've done here. I lopped about 6 minutes off the original. Might save the rest for later. More bug tunes coming I imagine. Thanks m8.

The bass
has teeth. The drums sting. The synthing doesn't suck. I closed my eyes and got an image of you in a bad horror movie where insects had human heads but made the most of their multiple arms and legs to play music. (Termites, Mosquitoes and Fleas, oh my!)Fierce music. Glad you were inspired by the buzz.

Hi Paula
As a fur-bearing rodent, I'm sure you share my opinion that bugs are among the most unlikely denizens of a creation designed around me and my fellow mammals. Love the image --- "help me ... help me" (ref "The Fly" ---original version).

Hi Steve
Oh sure, Termie can rock, but you can imagine my chagrin when, at the 4-minute mark (not appearing in this version), he stops playing and starts nibbling away on his guitar, bringing the whole session to a dead stop. The most frustrating collab ever.

This is good stuff Les. Your guitar playing blows me away. You truly have the feel for this genre of rock. Bass drives it but the drums are well thought out and sound good in the mix ... that female ahh ... nice pause. Excellent writing and performance!!!!!! This is better than the coffee I'm drinking this morning ... I'm awake now....

Weird
The MJ version kept conking out after 30 seconds or so. Fortunately I automatically DL'ed it, as is my wont with certain Jammers, and I'm pleased to report that the overlords here in the Empire of the Ants approve. They also insist that we all take time out from our busy schedules at the sugar mine to shake our thangs at least twice daily. My thorax aches with all the grooving.

Hi, Graham
Don't know about the conk out. I hope that's not too widespread. I wanted this short but 30 seconds is a bit drastic. Very pleased that you and your exoskeletonic cohorts were able to dig it. Rock that biomass!

Anxious insects
Ha. This is not about insects right? Too humanlike... even the picture looks like a soldier. Well, insects too live in a violent world I guess. They don't have anxiety makers and brain manipulators like we humans have though.
Man, the intro is killer. Can't believe the drums were alone for a couple of bars until the bass entered. Mighty anisopteras! The synths lurking as an oppressive shadow while the activity is frenetic to end in a sudden silence like nothing ever happened. Or life in about 3 minutes.

No dragonflies in this session. Those guys are egomaniacs, I tell ya. Insects don't have anxiety, they cause anxiety. That's what the song is about. God's awe-ful creation. There is beauty, yes, but look a little closer, and one finds the stuff of fear. Thanks for the comments. Enjoyed. Life in three minutes --- yes. I hadn't thought of that. Very good!
