Lyrics
In a Mental Way

When you travel afar
By bus or by car
And you don't know the time of day
I still feel you near
Yes, it's all very clear
We're together in a mental way

In the town there's much confusion
'cause it's filled with life's illusion
Never fear the blood transfusion
Just listen to my solution

Senti-mental
Prog reggae. Cool drum track. I really like the vocal arrangement and performances here. Very pleasing. Please post the lyrics. We like to read along, eh. How did you do (or who did) the female vocals? Reggae with your unique stamp.

Hi Les
I saw you were on line so I hoped you'd catch it. I like the bass line on this the most. I wanted to put in the lines "Pushin' an' a shovelin'" for some reason, but couldn't manage it. You can hear my crappy Jamaican accent in the middle somewhere. In GB there is a "Vocal transformation" thingy which can transpose a male into a passable female, and presumably vice - versa. Thanks for stopping by.

Glad you liked it.
I always feel comfortable playing the riddim of life. Something to do with nights at reggae clubs in Leeds, Dennis Brown singles and seeing the Police a lot. Glad you enjoyed it, KC.

Arf!
Good to see you, Mr H! We live not far from the beach, and often go to Bertha's Blue Dinghy Bar, (the friendliest bar in Freeport, Bahamas) to admire the view and enjoy the hospitality. I'm always pleased to hear your comments, so thanks for that.

Some thought has gone into the rhythm behind this - the bass and drums work well! The vocals are entertaining and also work well together. Quirky lyrics. All very enjoyable!

That's me. The blood transfusion line has something to do with Marley's "Have no fear for atomic energy", which still makes no sense to me at all. But it's a great line. Glad you enjoyed it, Philip.

I do my best
I've spent much time learning the depths of Garageband. It really is a capable application. I'd like to upgrade to Logic or something, but dread the learning curve. As I indicated earlier I'm fond of the bass line, and use it to hold everything together while I'm fooling around with the mix. Happy you enjoyed it, Alec.

Had to be enjoyed by your wife!
I much enjoy the tone of guitars weaving in and out of the bass as well as other captivating aspects of your tune. Great lyrics, fun harmonies great energy.

Lots of compression and a bit of chorus on the cheap SX guitar, and my wife likes the song. Mission accomplished. Cheers.

In the Bahamas Heineken is more popular than Red Stripe, and rasta types drink Guinness for some reason. I polished off a few Sands' beers while doing this one, which all goes to show nothing much, really. Glad you enjoyed the song.

Very different. I have to admit I was drawn in by the hook. Came away from this whistling it to myself... much enjoyed!

But for once I don't know where it came from. For some reason I think of "Summer Holiday" by Cliff Richard when I hear it. Thanks for listening.

Reggae
I do like my reggae. You have got that bass just right, I gather you must have had some first hand experiences of this misunderstood genre. Bob would be jammin to this! First class job too on the vox but you don't mention the excellent background singer? Is that you too?

Bogus women
The ladies are me and some vocoding. The bass is my good bass (Ibanez), recorded in the UK last year. I should bring it over to the Bahamas, but BA would no doubt charge an arm and some legs for the privilege, so I may as well get a new one. I'm happy you liked it, Toke.

Simple, short and really good lyrics ... Graham, I'm totally grooving' on this vibe. Like the high falsetto vocals ... you've really captured the feel here.
The bass is perfect and I like the guitar sounds. Well done.
Enjoyed!
