Lyrics
On last tuesday, I got a knock at my door
There were thirteen skeleton soldiers
playing cards on my porch
The lieutenant asked me
could they stay here a while
for the road is long and weary
they've walked many a mile
But I said- No no no no no
don't you knock on my door
no no no no no you ain't no kin to me
no no no no no this is private property
no no no no no go back to the war
On wednesday, I got a knock at my door
it some fucking politician
and a cheap day labor whore
With a smile he asked me
could he count on my vote?
I said "son you don't know me"
Yeah the chance is remote
and I said- No no no no no
Don't you knock on my door
no no no no no you ain't no kin to me
no no no no no this is private property
no no no no no just leave me be
leave me be
break
On saturday night, I got a knock on my door
There stood Jesus Christ,
smelling like a liquor store
and he asked me,
won't you come with me?
I can take all away the pain,
you just gotta die to see
and I said- No no no no no
Don't you knock on my door
no no no no no you ain't no kin to me
no no no no no this is private property
no no no no no religion ain't for me.
Now it's old sunday
and who do I see?
The devil was lounging there
underneath the Judas Tree
So I asked ol scratch,
What do you want with me?
Nothing much, he said, let's drink a while
moonshine and opium tea
And I said- hey yeah yeah yeah yeah
Now that sounds fine to me
Hey yeah yeah yeah yeah, let's forget a while
Hey yeah yeah yeah yeah, life ain't always gotta be grim
Hey Yeah yeah yeah yeah, drink up and smile
But I said- No no no no no
don't you knock on my door
no no no no no you ain't no kin to me
no no no no no this is private property
no no no no no just leave me be

This is real cool. I kinda thought the chorus would be a minor key so I was surprised. That's always good. I think a few vocal layers might boost the shape in the chorus. Just an idea. Love the lyric.
