Mother Earth Mud Jam
I was waiting for Carlos to enter and start burning up the fretboard. Thanks for not making me wait long!

Great tribal rhythm track
excellent guitar tone - so cool to hear you bend the ax. I like the added second line - bringing a subtle eastern feel to the jam. Nice touch with the keyboards towards the end. You rock. Tell us about how you built the rhythm bed.

watched the Woodstock film and got inspired by the tribal chant they played while showing folks sliding in the mud. also watched Quintessence at Glasto http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YaKHFQEPD0

rhythm track is one 10 minute pass playing along with a drum loop that is way back in the final mix. i used a child's snare drum, tambourine, and a frisbee. i played each for a little while various ways, and clapped as well. after, i cut it up into a whole bunch smaller loops, warts and all. i EQ'd each loop separately. mixing involved bringing in groups of loops, first about a 1/3 of them, then 2/3, and finally everything.

guitar is also one 10 minute take, warts and all. a copy of the same track is also played 16 bars later, through a different amp simulator. during arranging, i mercilessly cut out huge swaths of it.

all the rest is MIDI: bass is a loop, modified. flute is several unmodified loops strung together. organ is pencil tooled.

it took about 4 hours.

thanks

Very Woodstock
I remember festivals from the late 60s and early 70s and there was always at least one jam like this (although often not as well played as this :-) )

Cheers

Dick

....
A couple of these 'woodstock' songs with the 'Glastonbury' tag on them definitely sound more Glastonbury. I dig it. It reminds me of The Stone Roses. .............I posted the first half of this comment before the song finished, :/ The jam was really awesome by the last half of the song, sounded like you really started getting into that groove. Felt like I had to come back and point that out. Nice.

Wish I'd been old enough to go!!!
My ex, Mark was there (he was 16) and boy did he catch hell when he got home. I also knew someone else who was there ~ met him on the train from New Haven to Washington D.C. when I was 16 a several years later, a man named Francis DuMaurier : ) Ahem! I never did watch the Woodstock documentary till a year ago on PBS ~ And there he was!!! On camera ~ several times! Oh! Wow! Francis DuMaurier! Small world, Noh?! Wonder where he is now ~ he was working in a three piece suit and tie in NYC when I met him and commuting back and forth between there and D.C. Nice memory. And Loved the Jam Smokey VW!!! Did you go to Woodstock? or Watkins Glen or Glastonbury Whitehall ?
