Description
I travel through the Victorian countryside a bit as part of the work I do. This song came out of that. The tracks are:
1. Steel strung acoustic (Maton FG100)
2. Acoustic with open G tuning (the Maton again)
3. Vocal
4. Bass (5 string Fender Squier)
5. Guitar fills (Gibson Howard Roberts)
6. Guitar lead break (The Gibson again)
7. Garageband Synth Texture – “Lalaria pad”
The picture of the flame tree was taken somewhere on the east coast of Australia (I can’t remember exactly where).
While the download function on MacJams doesn't seem to be working, you can, if you would like to, download the song from here: http://www.philipgardner.com.au/music.html

Lyrics
The Road Home
Words and Music by Philip Gardner
The sun is high above me, there’s a haze upon the road
The crows are sitting idly on the wire
Looking at the Jersey cows that are drinking from a dam
While flame trees wave and set the sky on fire
It seems to take forever to get from town to town
And I’m weary from the journey that I’m on
All that drives me forward, that keeps my mind alive
Is knowing that this road will take me home
It’s getting near to night fall, the shadows they are long
The birds are getting noisy as they fly
I’ve been away for far too long and I’m tired of the time
My eyes are staring forward at the line
I know it has to happen, I know it’s what I do
But some days all I think of is just getting home to you
Stretching out before me is another 100 miles
Will this road I’m travelling ever end
[Instrumental]
It seems to take forever to get from town to town
The weight of all that’s in my mind keeps me feeling down
Stretching out before me is another 100 miles
But I know I’m coming home to you.
So much is ahead of me but when this day is done
I know that I’ll be back at home with you

Loob
indeed. That is a fitting name for it. Exquisite!
