HE WATCHES OVER ALL

Description
HE WATCHES OVER ALL is a song I wrote about how no matter what God is still in control. From the largest to the smallest things you can think of everything is in the hands of the All Mighty God. There was a famous counselor by the name of Bruce Larson who was, at that particular point of time, counseling a man who had been overcome by all the worries in his life. Mr. Larson took the distraught man down to see the statue of Charles Atlas in front of the Rockefeller Center in midtown Manhattan, New York. He then told the man to take a very close look at this statue until he had gotten a very clear image of the man in his mind. So the man studied the statue - he looked at Charles Atlas' body straining under the weight of the world above his shoulders as he tried so hard to balance the earth within in hands - muscles dripping with sweat and his torso so tense one would think that any moment he would be overwhelmed by the weight of the world. When the man had finished looking at the statue Mr. Larson asked him to follow him across Fifth Avenue and on into St. Patrick's Cathedral. Once inside the Cathedral he led him down the corridor to a single painting at the end of the hall. Mr. Larson then told the man to look at this painting to see what he could see. There, in the painting, was the young man Jesus holding out his hands; and in the palm of his hands was the earth. There was no strain upon the body of Christ, no signs that the weight of the world was going to anytime soon overcome His ability to hold it, unlike the statue of Charles Atlas who was very much trying as he may, to hold it all upon his shoulders. And once the man had given a sigh in awe of the picture before him Bruce Larson asked, "Do you get the picture now?"

Try as we may we cannot handle the stresses of this world on our own. We need to "...get the picture..." before it's too late and the weight becomes so overwhelming that we can no longer bare it. Think about these things...

You can feel the emotion
I can tell you put the whole you into this one. Nice folk feel on this one. Enjoyed it.

On the production side, the vocal sounds a bit midrangy and not enough air in the sound. Keep up the good work!

Appreciate...
any and all critiques - Thanks for the complements - yeah, I know it needs some more work. I just did a simple recording of this song - need to get into a studio and do some more work. My first CD "EVERY TIME THE SEASONS CHANGE" has about 13 songs on it that have a better sound and effects quality to it.

sweet song
Very nice song structure, and nice guitar work. The singing feels a little strained, not quite like Atlas, but perhaps if you transposed it down a few notes you wouldn't push the high notes quite so much... I think that stressed singing interferes a little with the message/lyrics. But a vey nice listen.

Very nice...
comments drakonis... I have noticed a bit of what you are saying. Like I told crissew "...I know it needs some more work." I'm not usually all over the place. Sang professionally several years ago back in the tri-state area of IA,IL, and MO. Mostly around St. Louis area and branched out from there...
