I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I would also love to claim that I could play that, but instead, it is 100% hand-scripted. I hope that doesn't diminish your admiration for the piece, but I must be honest.

Hand scripted?
You pencilled all this? Very impressive. I'm a big fan of synthesised instruments and I love the sound you've got here. Guitar? Yes and no. You can tell it isn't, but that matters little. It's a new voice. And a real nifty tune as well.

Yes!
Thanks! The largest portion of my time was dedicated to the velocities of every note so that the song would have expression. I'm glad you liked it.

Velocities
Tell me about it! Seems you and I work in a similar way. I envy people who play with ease, pencilling takes forever.

Hi Mitchell - so great to see you around these parts again! i do pencil all of my orchestrations - the only thing i actually play is the piano - so i'm very impressed by this guitar penciling - it's fabulous (and i know how hard that is!) great work sir!

I got off work with this tune in my head, drove straight home, and got this out in one sitting!

no worries Karen!
I apparently have a forgettable name. I am often called "Anthony" by acquaintances, although I have recently been called "Jesse" (Mistaken for CrazeeFlootGrrl), Michael, and various other names...oh well. Don't worry, seriously though, all is well!

It was a bit time consuming!
It took a little doing, but I slogged my through (with occasional interruptions from my wife and 4.5 month old daughter [not that I mind either]).

Impressive.
Very nicely composed, it left me wishing it were longer, and that the downloads were working. Lovely stuff.

Thank you!
I am glad you enjoyed it! Hopefully downloads will start to function soon (I have a long list I want to download from various artists myself).

Maybe one day I will extend this song...

Impressed!
I'm greatly impressed that you could imagine such a fine piece of classical guitar music, Marshall, and then to pencil it in... Lovely Spanish influences, with a hint of eastern mysticism. The "guitar" had an almost harpsichord nuance overlaid. Fine post. Thanks, Peter.

Thanks!
Actually, after I reconsidered it, I think I should have named it "Balada del MediterrĂ¡neo" because their are middle-eastern, Greek, Spanish, and Italian themes all wrapped into this song. When I write the extended song, I think that is what I will call it.

I have a musical soul. Music moves me in deep ways and I love playing with sound. That is why, for writing music, I love Dubstep, Techno, filmscores, and cinematic soundtracks. Among my favorite non-macjam artists are Mitis, Bassnectar, Celldweller, ... [see more]
