Description:
The sounds in this tune were taken from a variety of sources... a lot of them were recorded on digital video, sampled with Wiretap, and then transferred to Garageband. The rhythm is me slapping my body, clicking, and popping virtual bubblewrap (http://www.virtual-bubblewrap.com/popnow.shtml). The other sounds were taken from a video of me giving my twin girls a bath (while I sort of yodel and whistle along)... with some animal sounds mixed in. This was influenced by pooey's "Aikafen" - it's his fault!

That was really funny and creative. Love the picture too. Forget cowbell. Bubble wrap is where it's at.

This is hysterical &mdash 02/23/05 - 06:26:51 PM
Very imaginative! Actually, cowbell would have fit right in
here...

only you would have thot to mix bubble wrap & bath
water. crazee sound, lotz 'o fun! you should do more of
these, maybe make a kids album to help finance that
'music habit'. better yet, get ALL the macjammer's kids in
on a song for complete zanyness

Now there's a thought... a sampler of music made by kids... I think it might
be difficult to get them all to collab on one song :)

Loved it. Laughed out loud. My fellow teachers actually thought it was something I would have done. But this definitely has the Stun Nutz feel all over it. Had to listen to it again to make sense of some of the sounds, but yeah--bubble wrap for sure.

Too funny. And thanks for the props. This is great. My kids will love this one.

Very Cool &mdash 02/24/05 - 04:03:18 PM
sounds like you had fun while creating this one. You have
two beautiful daughters by the way, they must take after
their mom. ; )

What to make of this! Don't over-analyze, Richie. Steady
now. It's all in good fun. Imagine what this percussion
collection would look like in a small symphony orchestra
-- two girls in a tub, bubblewrap, farm animals and body
parts. What a sight for sore ears!

Fun.

All of a sudden the introduction reminded me of Duran Duran's "A View to a
Kill." Check it out. Hilarious--and my wife hears it too. She loves the Duran
Duran, so that confirms it. Lemme know if you hear it too. Peace!

aw, man... that would be perfect. Just weave in a little Duranx2 at the
end and craft an epic sampladelic mash up. I could even Photoshop
those dudes into the tub! ...better yet, maybe just put Grace Slick in
there...wasn't she the villan in that movie? I may have to think about
that one.

LOL. Grace Slick the villain--BEWARE those googly eyes. It was actually
Grace Jones, who is somehow even scarier than Grace Slick. Maybe Grace
Slick would have employed the "We Built This City" weapon on the world.
With the push of a button, all videos would feature a dancing Abe Lincoln.

And about putting the DD boys in the tub with your girls--maybe just include
Nick Rhodes. He's the gay one, right? No danger there.

DARN...Grace JONES...Grace JONES...I always get those names mixed up.
Ha...a "We Built This City" weapon? That sounds awfully dangerous.

and fun!
I like the mix of sounds.
What do your daughters think of this?

Yeah...fun's the word, I guess...that's just me going totally Nutz again.
My kids do like this track, but to a point. They will listen to it once, ask
me to play it again, and then no more. It seems like two is the magic
number. It does give my son some conflict, though. He is prepared to
not like it, because it features his sisters, but I catch him smirking when
I play it and then humming the dorky bassline later. Kids are funny.

Fun stuff! Your girls must go hysterical for this!

I realize this was done for a larf, but I can't help wondering at the result of cleaning up the samples, converting them to loops, and really trying to produce a polished track...

Hey! Stop putting ideas in my head! I don't have enough time as it is without you igniting thoughts for new projects! (Thanks for the fun-ness!)
