Lyrics
Verse 1:
Holy Lord, how marvelous Your ways.
Righteous Lord, we glorify Your name.
We sing of Your grace, we lift up our hearts to magnify Your name.
We have been redeemed because of Your love, we bless Your holy name.
Holy Lord.

Verse 2:
Mighty God, no eye has seen Your face.
Wonderful, the Lamb Who took our place.
All glory and power, all honor and praise we sing to Your great name.
We bow at Your throne, the Ancient of Days; forever You will reign.
Holy Lord.

Chorus:
Sing to the Lord!
Lift up your praise!
Sing! Sing! Sing to the Holy Lord!

Bridge:
Salvation belongs to our God,
the Lamb Who sits on the throne.
Sing to the One Who reigns on high!

This really quite good!

Very Calvery Chapel (southern Calif.) worship song.
Again you play and sing it well. I led worship for a few
years in a "home" church" and can easily envision
this song as a part of time or worship and praise.

I like the Beatlesque drum panning in the verses.
I only have constructive criticism. Ignore it if you like.
At the beginning of the 3rd & 4th line of each verse the
harmonic rhythm seems awkward. You go from F to Dm
really fast without similar rhythms following. Instead, drop
the F chord and start those lines with Dm.
The "holy lord" line after every verse is completley
unecessary and actually quite detrimental. Lose it. Go
right from "We bless your Holy Name" into the crescendo
leading into the chorus. It just feels better that way.
The notes in the chorus may be a weeeeeee bit toooooooo
long if this is meant to be a congregational thang. if not
doesn't matter.
The choruses could be bigger in general. More
instrumentation or more vox. Harmonies or
countermelodies maybe?
I read your bio and am glad you're inspired to
write songs like this. I've tried but it's just not me so I'm
glad there are folks like you in the world with the
inspiration to do so. I personally don't think any music
should be written if not inspired. Marketing contrived
music and/or contriving music for marketing is a sin
worse than using god to market music.
Good Luck in your endeavors.

Thank you for your comments. I appreciate the constructive criticism you have offered, and will take it under consideration.

It's funny what you said about the chorus needing something else along the line of countermelodies. That's exactly what I've thought, but I haven't had the chance to work that out totally yet. Maybe in a futre revision. I've got this female vocal line in my head, so it may make an appearance in the future.

Thank you also for your comments about inspiration. My Lord is truly the inspiration behind my songs, but I am also inspired by the gracious support of my congregation. They have encouraged my songwriting, and I write everything with them in mind. I always picture them either singing along or listening and think about what will help them worship. I want to create something that speaks to them and not just myself.

I've been a "musician" since I was a child. Though my interests have changed/refocused through the years, music has always been there and been the one thing I've constantly been involved with. I have been in ministry since graduation from college. I ... [see more]
