At first it seemed liked the instrument had a rather limited range in the few videos I found with people playing them. Now I know better, Like any string, it can have a lot voices.

Haunting ... yes .....
... lonely sounding ... definitely ... brings to mind .... a form of sad suffering of long ago .... the little crackly fire sound was pyre like ... or was that just my headphones?
