Description
written in 1941 by Ted Daffan, an East Texas songwriter. (also composer of the great 'Worried mind' )

So many notables have recorded this one. Ray Charles being one of my favorites. Of course this does not have Ray Charles singing, and it isn't even in his style because I know my limitations! But it is in my style, and I hope you like it. Sylvia - piano and all other instrument sounds.
Sylvia - Cover Art....my candles sat in the sun too long! Poor Candles!

Didn't know you did country! I love your chordal approach to playing the melody. Nice use of dynamics. You seem to know which phrases to lay back on and when to lay into it. A great listen!

Thanks so much! I found your comment so interesting. When I play, no matter what genre, I always wonder how I would want to use voice dynamics if I sang it. So I play as if my fingers are singing....it's a little secret technique I learned a long time ago.

Born to lose
Very smooth, Sylvia. A beautifully together piece, with the relaxed drums, guitar to fill things out and the gentle melody line. Nicely balanced recording. Much enjoyed!

Love the song art
I often feel that way myself ;-)
I guess you've been playing that clavinova for a while now because you sure get some great sounds and accompaniment from it. Oh, and you play good too ;-)

Poor candles
I have days like that too....guess we all do. But today isn't one of them. Yup, been playing a long, long time. They don't even make this model anymore. Sure hope I can get it fixed. I hate not being able to create anything new these days. This is one I made before the speaker crashed. Glad you came by. Thanks!

I'm a country fan
and love the Jerry Kramer feel to this. I think this has a great melody to it and love the retro sound. Really brings me back to Jerry's sound, and not sure if I can tell the difference that's how cool i think this sounds. Glad your putting in a good word for country music here at macjams, keeping the musical faith. Way to go!

Just noticed this comment!
Thanks so much ! I enjoy a little bit of country, now and then. I know it's risky on this site, never see too much enthusiasm for it here. But I figure, if no one posts this genre, how can anyone listen to it? So here it is, for better or for worse. Thanks for stopping by and for even finding this! I'm thrilled!

Hi folks. I hope you will enjoy my piano tunes. I play and arrange them all on either the Yamaha Clavinova or the Korg keyboard, never use backing tracks or loops. But if if I decide to try that someday you'll be the first to know!. It feels real... [see more]
