Lyrics
hey now charlie
you don't like the 9 to 5
you like to do things
get so much more out of life

charlie built a rocket
flew it all the way to mars
but now poor charlie
stuck out there amongst the stars

you should have listened to your girlfriend
should have stayed there back at home
should have listened to her
when she said you should never roam

but he wanted to go
there is lots of things out there we do not know
and i want to be there
when they dance with aliens

where i am at i do not know
no
and i want to come back home
home

please bring me home

charlie's girlfriend waves back
she tries to signal desperately
but charlie can not see her
he's half way across the galaxy

Another quality song, Mark. Fine mix. Liking the synth work and the tight drums. Great listen. Thanks, Peter.

Yes, I do like
you had me shakin' my booty as I was strapped in for the ride. Very cool, fun tune. And that rocketship image is superior nostalgia. Thanks.

Among the stars
My sense of synth history is not good enough that I can tell if something is authentic 80s, unless you throw in that awful DX7 epiano, which you thankfully don't.

But however the sounds were made I like the energy of this song. Very upbeat and lots of colours in the arrangement.

Ground control...
...Charlie bit my finger.. all wrapped up in a tidy upbeat 80s package you do so well. I too get some Baltimora reference/vibe.. but really can't pin-point why. I kept thinking of a 70s "Charlie": a cat from some safety cartoons aimed at kids...that had given up on the dangers of earth.

Some folks like cubicles, some folks don't
I like the ones, like Charlie, that don't. Great lyric, fun tune. Agree, one of your best. (P.S. Major Tom is calling on line one... I think he found Charlie.)

cool arrangement, everything fits together just right... the bridge part is an interesting contrast to the rest. a lot of cool synth sounds in there too. applause!

Disco space cadets!
I'm not sure I understand your lyrics, but I must say that the clever. flute-y beat is really engaging. I like the shif in the rhythm around 1:30 very much, esp. since you shift into it so seamlessly...and then segue out of it again. That vocal waver around 2:15 harkens back to the Beatles. they don't own it, so I'd say you borrowed with prudence and with great success. Seems that Charlie is happily moving on while his girlfriend doesn't have a clue as to why he wants to... anyway, this is a pretty interesting track and I enjoyed listening to it very much, indeed.
