There's something really brilliant in here... ... but it hasn't quite coalesced. I love your voice. Especially on the phrase "It was only you..." Reminds me of Lloyd Cole. I'm a sucker for that simple raw lead guitar style, too. However I think you've poured far far too much of it in there. It's a bit like you're hiding behind it. Same goes for that distorted voice in the background And the singing is good enough without it. Why not pare the guitar down to just a few phrases? They'd have far more emotional impact; and the amount of guitar you've played here shows up your technical weakness on the instrument, rather than the emotional power of what can do with it. . I think you should take this back down to rhythm guitar, drums and voice and then work out how much more you need. Sorry to go on a bit, but I think this is potentially an excellent song... The guitars seemed to work against each other and distracted from your voice. This sounds like something Cake would do. You have that quality to your guitar in parts. Overall a good start. Work on adjusting the levels a bit. Keep it up!
