Description
On this composition my goal was to use rhythms of this area
from jazzy, funky to Latin. There is a big nod, toward the end,
to Cuba which has had cultural ties with New Orleans dating back to the
colonial era when the Spanish Crown administered the Province of Luisiana. (1762-1803)

Café Orléans
Very nicely put together ... makes you want to move, however I 'm listening with my morning coffee so there's not a whole lot of movin' going on as yet.
Enjoyed!
Cheers

Luscious sounds!
I'm really enjoying the groove of this Scotty, and all the references - I'm sure there was a taste of Sly and the Family Stone in there early on :) The smooth bits are my favs, but I'm also enjoying the Latin influence a lot.
Cheers from Oz,
Neil

Funky like the Meters but with much more sophistication. The organ solo rules!

Hi Scotty. I just came from Paul's serene "steppes" composition and got well and truly woken up by this funky, syncopated piece. Really liking the organ and piano amidst the rhythmic percussion and bass. Fine work. Regards, Peter.

Ah, maybe creole is what your are talking about more than Spanish? Struts real nice, could have used some Professor Longhair licks... The horn section is sounding lively!

Yep
Lots to like about this piece. Mix is super. Percussion is excellent. Plenty of instruments used but they all fit. Nice fade on the band on the outro. Excellent work Scotty. Thanks!

Hip and cool. And I love the New Orleans artwork. Was hoping for a trombone solo tho :)

Really quite good
Love the low end funk to this how it sets such a terrific feel for the whole tune. To me this really sounds top notch and I love the art work as well. Enjoy how you well articulate the off beats syncopations. This really cooks! :) Way to go MO !
