Description
an obsolete scientific theory that postulated the existence of a fire-like element called "phlogiston", which was contained within combustible bodies and released during combustion

based on parsley, Mayflower IPA, media overload, Smirnoff, and very late crocuses

Phlogiston
It was thought that when something burns, the phlogiston escapes. Since burning is actually oxidation, I've always thought of phlogiston as "anti-oxygen".

Eh, this sounds like a processed version of God Save the King/Queen. I'm not quite sure where the oxygen connection comes in. It's very cool though.

lather, rinse, repeat
i started with this: http://www.macjams.com/song/74573 and duplicated the vocal track several times with various vocal transformer settings to produce a fake chorus. then i made a copy and chopped it up into a couple of dozen little chunks and reversed the order. added a ton of reverb. exported to Audacity and reversed it. imported back to GB and mixed it in. added some thunder from FX loops to the beginning, and cheering children at the end... mixing. that's it.

the text and illustration are free association and google. the title and the pic both contain combustion. phlogiston sounds similar to *istan. the pic illustrates the automatic reflex response to pain, but it's wrong, the path should only go to the spinal cord and right back to the muscles. phlogiston theory is also wrong (it's sort of negative oxygen). the pic shows a direct path from the pain to the brain. symbolic i suppose.

those other things in the description are things that happened to me that Friday. personal experience, yet common to many others as well i suppose. we had a bunch of parsley that went bad and ended up in the compost bin. there are US and Russian booze in the list, things i had too much of that day. as with media. but the crocuses finally bloomed that day, way later than usual. it must mean something.

I had
a problem with this: it is way too short. There was an ointment my Mom had, when I was a kid and it was called Anti-phlogisteen. Seriously, and I mention that because there had to have been a connection to this concept. One should not deep fry food or roast wieners over a fire... while naked. Some painful burns are possible and then you'd need that ointment. You are a wild and crazy guy. Thanks.
