Description:
Monophobe is back with a really catchy pop-hit, inspired in true monophobic style by a multitude of genres, including trash metal (!). Caroline Ingeberg, our latest vocal collaborator, lifts the song to new heights with her brilliant performance!

Lyrics:
I went too far into something weird
can I turn now?
I seconded guessed I guess

I wanna shine like I always do
when I'm happy
now I'm a fucking mess

Don't wanna tell you I'm sorry
when I'm not sorry
You trivialize my pain

If I'm not pleasant enough to you
it's a pity
Believe me I’m not the same

If my battle is inside
I have to hide
'cause I know you never learn
the deeper meaning
Wish I was a child again
I knew my world back then
All I think about is how
can I turn now

I went along with the things
I feared that would hurt me
to hide that I was afraid

You came along at a bad time
wishing to change me
My plans were already made

And now I see it's a lot to
ask of somebody
You look like a question mark

'cause when you see my bright skin
and my shining eyes
you'd never think that I was this dark

But my battle is inside
I'll have to hide
'cause I know you'll never learn
the deeper meaning
Wish I was a child again
I knew my world back then
All I think about is how
can I turn now

Wish I was a child again
I knew my world back then
All I think about is how
can I turn
can I turn
now

I went to far into something weird
can I turn now

I went to far into something weird
can I turn now

Great mix of styles and sounds. I particularly liked the harsh guitar and the singers soft voice. Great harmonies! I downloaded it.

great mix &mdash 03/03/05 - 02:21:47 PM
Great mix of style. I love the arrangement and the beat.
It gets better and better as it builds. Nice quality
production, writing, and performances all around.

Caroline Ingeberg is a find! This is a great contemporary
female alternative rock song. Absolutely solid, right on. A
mainstream hit. Love the retro organ, altho the hi-EQ'd
acoustic intro guitar (on first verse) is a bit too bright in
my speakers (the chorus guitar is perfect, and once the
elec gtr layers in, it is fine too). Nice variation on layers of
instrument. The drumming got a bit frenzied in places
(especially in headphones). But this is a really good song
with great moments and an A1 vocalist (who could be
truned up in spots)!

Thank you. Due to the producer being in Australia and the writer-musician
and singer being in different parts of Norway we had to compromise a bit
when it came to sending parts of the song to be mixes. Hence most of the
guitars where on one track and couldn't be mixed separately. The bright
guitar is the result of the entire mix being brightened (earlier versions were
kind of muffled). It is a compromise, but a good one I think. It will be fixed in
a final mix of course.

And thank you all for all your compliments :)

Great track &mdash 03/03/05 - 08:10:43 PM
Really strong songwriting and an amazing voice. Like the
raunchy guitar.... always like raunchy guitar. Might want
to mix it down in the final version... keep the tone,
though. Awesome song!

Real good. Reminded me of the Bangles Live. Fab
vocals...and great playing.

Thick and tight playing to be sure.

Heard you saying you're not done mixing yet....but
it's getting tight now.

Solid 8.

Contrasts... &mdash 03/05/05 - 02:33:59 PM
In principle I like the idea of an aggressive song with a
somewhat sweet sounding singer, but I'm wondering if
you're overdoing it.

On my monitors it sounds like the bass is a bit
exaggerated. That, and the double bass drum, makes it
almost heavy metal, which the song is not.

Good song, though, decent production, well played and
sung.

Mono, I have to say I like this version better than the remixed one. Makes me move my chair more :) Reminds me on Republica a bit. Keep it coming baby.

Well, this _is_ the original. And the original should per definition be better than
the remix right? Hehe.

This mix isn't perfect. But it will be improved in the next month or so. Stay
tuned :)
