Description
I use a capo on the 5th fret.
The capo high can achieve some fun sounds.
This tune was recorded yesterday Friday March 4th.

Need to get me a capo!
Although I still couldn't play like this! You continuously
remind me how much I need to practice. Nice, pleasing
tune.

Thanks aclarke

I had composed for hours but it didn't sound complete, I sent it to a real
talented singer that might be interested. But I still was not happy with it. So I
really tried to polish it off and sent her better more rounded sound I think.

I just try the best I can do and hope for the best.

Yes, Very Pleasing
I enjoyed the melody, pacing and performance and look
forward to hearing where you take it as a future song.

nice acoustic tune
Like the finger picking, reminds me of English folk artists
like John Renbourn, Bert Jansch etc

nice acoustic tune
Thanks stevel

This was fun to do because I was playing it on the 5th fret.
I kind of wanted to put a but if Simon & Grafunkel feel to it.

On the mark
I'd say you did capture that Simon and Garfunkel sound. The opening phrase sounds a lot like the beginning of the S&G song that starts: "what a dream I had, dressed in organdy..."(I can't remember the title; it might be called "For Emily...") but then the chords go off in another direction. I'm not sure what the singer will come up with a melody, but there's a lot of melodic possibilities for this. Some really nice picking and I think the recording sounds really good, but the lead melody escapes me in this version. Really well recorded though!
Playing with a capo is something that gets neglected a lot as some people think it's cheating, but it really does change the character of the guitar.

To: Jim

I love to explore new avenues of music, sometimes it works sometimes it
doesn't. This is the first time that I recorded a tune with the capo so high.

Thanks for the post. Enjoyed your new acoustical piece as well.

Flowing Like a River
I heard a little of both Paul Simon and James Taylor in this
which of course is big compliment. The little hammer on
in the main theme really sounded nice. The capo does add
a lot of brightness to this which sounds great. I always
have trouble with putting one that high up the neck
because I have small hands but it worked great for you.
You should do it more often.

Flowing Like a River
Thanks bronco for the encouragement.

Now that I am using light gauged strings it will make playing higher easier to
finger.
