What I Want To

Description
One of my older tunes -- as I slowly replace the MIDI guitars with the real thing on my older tunes, I occasionally come up with something I'm really pleased with, like the solo on this.

So: MIDI bass and drums still, but the rhythm guitar is Dodie, my Epiphone Dot doing her best Rickenbacker 325 impression, and the lead is sweet little Sheila, my Epiphone Casino, pretending she's a Gretsch Country Gentleman. Enjoy!

Lyrics
People say that I am restless
That I never settle down
But I just go where I want to
And do what I want to
And no one's ever going to pin me down

I have always been a loner
I prefer it on my own
So I can do what I want to
Go where I want to
And never feel like I am all alone

But there's one thing that get me to stop my roving eye
And cause me to want to mend my ways
And that's a girl of whom I'm fonder
Than my need to wander
And I'll find her someday

If you think that girl is you now
Then I guess we'll have to see
So you should do what you want to
And go where you want to
And maybe you're the only one for me

What I Want To
Love the "All I've Got to Do" groove. Someday some well connected record shop owner will become your manager and get you out of those dreary basement clubs.

I love all your work
but in this I did not like the far left/right panning. I listened in headphones and didn't find it to fit the song very well.

Other than that the song is killer as is all your work!

Thanks!
I'll give it another listen... I have a tendency to forget to listen in earphones when preparing my final mixes. Appreciate the feedback!

What I Want To
really like your chord arrangement in this one. and the recording itself sounds great, i mean really bold and clear. how far have you gotten with the guitar "re-do's"? still got a ways to go?
Check out my latest song called Time and a Word

Quite a ways, yes.
I'm focusing mostly on the "early" period stuff -- songs that could be lost tracks from Please Please Me, With The Beatles, Hard Day's Night, Beatles for Sale, Help! -- but overall I'd say there is some real guitar on around 20 of the 94 Applesauce Project tracks (10 of which are written but nothing's been recorded yet).
