Description:
It has been a while, since Mcboy sent me this wickedly cool track he claimed to assemble from some bits and leftovers of miscellaneous jams he had sitting on his harddrive... I layered some percussion loops and sax tracks over it; the result is here.
Hardware:
Mine didn't change, what Mcboy used, don't know; doesn't matter, really, does it?

The magic of McBoy... and additional performance and
production by IGS! Very tight and punchy. The little
incidentals are very welcome. I do think this song is
begging for the piano to take off, though. Nice job, Gents! [ Reply to This ]

Inspiring and awesome sax playing... the whole off beat
dissonant sounds merge together into a fabulous Jazz
fusion track that is irresistible. I love that relentess perc
running through.... awesome production and mix IG
excellent track from McBoy and You...

It's easy to work with quality ingredients; most of the credits should go to
Mcboy, for the incredible runway track; I merely doodled over it...

Love the mix of real saxes with synths. Sounds like a
funked up World Saxophone Quartet. The disparate breaks
from the saxes provide just the right relief (the symphonic
blurbs).
Gets awfully busy toward the end. Lots of reverb. I
imagine you had a lot of fun putting this together. It was
fun to listen to.

Thanks. There is no syns, at least on my part; the sax duo on the first half of the tune is my recording, saved as a loop, and then dropped a third down; I don't think, Mcboy used any syns neither.
I might revisit the ending in a while to lighten it up a bit, I was thinking about it...

Three of a Perfect Pair &mdash 03/07/05 - 08:38:14 AM
Love the little string interruptions and the break sections.
And how the break sections are all unique. You don't fall
into the trap of balancing out those sections, which,
contrasted with the repetitive nature of the comping loop,
was a great choice. Wonderful panning, instrument
separation, 3D mapping. Would've preferred a change-up
just before the fade, a key change or something, giving it
new life as it moves away to new dimensions, making
the fade more compelling. The track is very alive and
playful, very fun. Love the early 70s cover art. [ Reply to This ]

As always, complements mean a lot, when they come from you; thanks!

What a great groove, very unusual combination of bits and
pieces! You combine them artfully.
I like the little string bits....wish they were a bit louder and
punchier though. Something to give the listener a jolt of
surprise. A bit stronger of a spice.
The sax stuff is truly cool -- I really like the way you did
that!
A little more variety in the texture might have created
even more interest on this track. More aural space. You've
got a lot going on for most of the time. It would have
been nice to contrast it with a more transparent texture at
times.
Great concept, though, and wonderful performance. [ Reply to This ]

I hear you, and I agree wholeheartedly; however, the runway track was rather intense to start with...
