Description
DISCLAIMER: no i don't have a breaking heart. i had a different set of lyrics for this but they didn't seem to fit the mood. i started to think that since there are quite a few Dm chords (the saddest chord of them all according to the scriptures of spinal tap.... that i would do a achey breaky heart song.

Lyrics
The Heart Will Know

just take a moment
you need to breathe
your lungs are silent
they want to scream
you know your time will slow
your heart will know

you say pain
your heart felt pain
you feel that life will take you down down every time

think for a moment
as she walks away
someone waits for you
but not today
no matter how it’s played
the heart will know

you say pain
your heart felt pain
you feel that life will take you down down every time

now cast your dreams
onto the streets
city of heartbeats
lay at your feet
best days you remember
your heart will know

pain
your heart felt pain
you learn that life goes around around around every time

Saddest of them all
Love the Spinal Tap reference, Vic!

Very cool song and you make great use of those minor chords. I really like the lyrics and the guitar solo was classic Vic... which is to say... awesome!

Hope you are doing well, my friend.

The Dm has me all weepy and melancholy. The mix is super crisp, how do you do it? Every instrument has it's place in the EQ band with no competition. Gorgeous. Excellent drum programming as well. You are a man with patience and talent! Doubled-up blistering guitar leads are excellent.

all logic
a lot of tweaking until the cows come home. at some point it all finally blooms.
the drums are logics drummer program. the more you dig into it, the more you find what you can really do with it. it's more versatile then people think

Dm
Well, this c certainly isn't a sh+t sandwich, Vic. This has a wonderfully languorous (is that a word) quality, kinda slothful until the chorus pulls itself out of bed and whispers sinisterly on your ear. Another quality track from the House of Holman.

no i don't have a breaking heart...
Thou dost protest too much! Admit it, Vic, you're still pining over the Goodwillys demise... (rim shot).

I really like the sad side of Vic. The song evokes sadness and in the guitar break almost despair. Nice. Hearts are for breaking... cast it on the street...

some strange chords in there...
...even more than the Dm business. Unusual and very effective in bringing the sadness out of these lyrics. You're consistently in THAT groove and so the song has an internal unity that just makes it all work. Nice one, Vic.

fragmented chords is the best way i can explain it. some usually defy music theory but if they resolve to next chord then all is fine by me, thanks again paul.

your mastery of guitar layering is on full display, with the usual impeccable arrangement, mixing and tasty tones.

the interplay of guitar and bass indeed creates some unusual and satisfying textures. singing and drums also sound just right.
artwork is neat too. enjoyed as always!

I like the photo
It shows all the areas a heart could hurt. Nice song and I'm digging the selection of chords, not only sad but very dark as well. Lead fits the progression and The vocals reflect the feeling of doom.
