Existential blues
The angst comes through in the playing and singing .. and those bashing drums. It all fits together nicely.

Love those guitar licks at the end!

The drums
are brilliant. You can compare this with the older version to appreciate what a real drummer can do. Thanks for listening, Warren.

A totally new song
I took the time to listen to the first version and as impressive as it was the drums just add a whole new dimension and feel to this version. David did a nice job honoring the song- fills were very tasteful. Well done!

My thoughts exactly
It's like the whole thing came alive. Now if only I had a decent guitar. And bass.

If I only had you
The warm harmonies are very effective. Strong tune and the drums certainly give it presence and a "big" feel. It works well, Graham - much enjoyed!

Great drums
Cringey vocals in my opinion. I like the tune though. Thanks for taking time to listen again, Philip.

Graham
Thanks for the heads up. First off your hallmark retro style is perfectly matched by David's tuning and style. That is something you can't get when you use loops and samples (or at least not without inordinate work). This showcases both your song and David's artistry. I will listen to the others. Thanks again.

Michael is in charge of that one.
But you have to move to Alabammy, and sing songs about eggs and ham and Dixie, according to a song I heard. I didn't really intend to swamp MJ with songs, I just wanted to tell the world about Mr McNair. Anyway, I hope I've achieved that, He's had a few other folks contacting him, so that's good. Thanks for listening again, Mark.

If I Only Had You, featuring David McNair
Nice tune Graham. I like the harmonies you're singing and the strong acoustic rhythm. Real drums are always a great addition ... at first I felt they were too upfront for the style of song but when the electric guitars come in it was all good. The drums sound great.

If I Only Had You, featuring David McNair
Great song with impressive light and shade. I tend to agree with Stan that, to me, the drums possibly dominate the quieter passages but seem more at home when everything kicks in. Live drums are hard to beat, though, despite Drummer's best effort. Take care, Peter.

Drums are killer
But, of course, you knew that. The song itself strikes me as a sad ballad (with R & R bridge) and you pull it off extremely well not only with the vocal, but with the FORM of the piece, too. Nicely produced track that really drives itself into one's head.

And there's more
This isn't a genre I've tried before, but working with a real drummer has given me the confidence to try something new. Watch this space, and thanks for listening, as ever, Paul.

Graham strikes again
I'm late. Apologies. I'm on vacation. It's somewhat derivative, intentional or not, but it's worthwhile getting your version of this sound. There are a finite number of progressions that carry this kind of feel, and there's not much to be done about that. Really fine work here. And yeah the drums sound great, but hell, so does everything else. I especially like the vocals. And the plaintive guitars. Tops.

Good to see you. Les. The latest one what David and I done is a real corker. I haven't posted it yet, as I tend to jump the gun. I'll PM the latest one if you like.
