Lyrics
here’s to the days of the future
three cheers for the war that you’ll wage
on the first world problems of a future age

where everyone’s a slave to the fashion
and everyone a waste of your time
the guilty ones will never bear the brunt of their crime

time to set the stage for the latest rage that’s all around you
what was here today will soon get swept away
what’s tied and bound you down?

last call for the sad souls weeping at the drunken sailor cafe
that’s all for the last ones sweeping up it’s...
it’s anchors away

it’s anchors away

last chance to see the latest sensation

last dance for the boys in the band
a future age won’t even try to understand

last call for the sad souls weeping at the drunken sailor cafe
that’s all for the last ones sweeping up it’s...
it’s anchors away
it’s anchors away...

Wow - this good
love the lyrics and production. I can get behind the sentiment all the way and your performances are all exemplary. Cool sitar/guitar solo. Great ending.

Lovely stuff
Really nice track Brian, top quality musicianship and production, sounds like it was recorded in a big studio (Abbey Road?) with a big cast of musicians! Nice to hear a bit of mellotron and sitar in there....

Compelling lyrics. Big production arrangement. Quality sound and classic adult contemporary vibe. A very fine package. Good luck with the album. Regards, Peter.

Terrific!
Man, this is the kind of song I wish I had the skills to write.

Awesome lyrics and quite a cool production overall. Love the line "Last call for the sad souls weeping".

Really liked the outro- tastefully done.

Wonderful song. Fave'd and I am (gratefully) taking a copy for myself!

Allover goodness
Excellent song, great production, playing and vocals. The lyrics are very good too. I really like the change at 1.12 (in both music and production).

Wonderful Brian.
I somehow missed this one.

Brilliant writing and performance.

Bits of XTC, Beatles and Brian Delaney.

Beautifully done. Sheer quality and a cool outro ;-)

Cheers

Yup...
that ship, I fear, has already sailed. And now it has a soundtrack... a Lemmings Lament. Nicely done, Brian. ;)

I thought
This was going to be about Old Navy!

So glad it wasn't. You have such patience when building your music. The bridge into the chorus is stunning.
