Melancholy song &mdash 03/13/05 - 08:43:56 PM
This is cool stuff. The levels in the beginning are a bit
strange (either the guitar too soft or the piano too loud),
but after that this is a great song. Wonderful feeling, and
all parts nicely played.

Another really sweet song. You (your band?) write some
great songs.

The piano does sound a bit hot. It sounds like it's ten
stories tall compared to he rest of the music. This may be
a case of just too much reverb (like that other song of
your had in the first version). Back off on the reverb and
perhaps bring the levels down a bit. Is that a real cello I
hear? Nice.

hiya. liked the song very much!
i liked the way you sang here like you are like talking?
i also really liked the piano sound here and i liked the
way you added the deep reverb to it.

Intriguing words, well sung. I'd love to see the lyrics,
BTW. Great use of piano/oboe/cello, nicely orchestrated.
It seemed a little short, which means that it flowed right
by very smoothly. I didn't think the piano was too "hot" in
the mix, but the bass sounded a little strong... but then I
had headphones on. Your straight-forward singing style
and the melancholy chords definitely convey a longing
heartache feeling, great job!

Nice feel to your vocals and tasteful, well done
instrumentation. Kudos.

We are very happy to hear all comments from you.
The criticism as well..

I've been tweaking the piano and bass-levels a bit. But I
don't seem to be able do upload the new version of the
song without deleting the old one.

You can't replace songs on MJ, you can only submit a newer version.
Hopefully, in MJ 2.0, different versions of the same song can be nested in a
single song page so that people can hear your progression as you perfect a
track.

Warm evocative &mdash 03/18/05 - 12:35:20 PM
Great sound. From the first instance of your delicate
fingering to your vocals, I really like the stylized
performance and intimate sound, with wonderful
harmonies. The use of solo strings is extremely well done,
very emotional and deepens a wonderful scene already
set. Your piano entrance is somehow clunky in my ears,
like it fades in really fast or something. Many of the
backing sounds are not EQ'd in the same field: they seem
duller, roomy, without the presence of your perfectly
mic'd voice and guitar. But this is a wonderful track,
compelling and melancholy, warm and meaningful. Well
done.
