come back
Mike's steel guitar playing really is a winner, Paul. This could be a lost track from "Rose of Cimarron". Wonderful harmonies, as always. Great listen. Thanks, Peter.

Come back
Beautiful playing. I love the cry of the steel guitar. Warm vocal. Highly entertaining!

CD Ready?
If you're planning to release a CD, this one's a pretty good pick for the tracks on it. This song's ready to go. Plenty of feeling in the vocal and in the guitar work too. Steel guitar with a real subtle touch. Vocal harmonies are very nice, I like the fact that there are several layers yet I can hear every word. I hate it when I need to read the lyrics to find out what they are, and there's certainly no need for that here.

Sweet
Thank you!
I'm kind of leaning toward not making CD's anymore, I don't think most people listen like that these days.

Great Steel
Nice uptempo country song. I would call it country rock myself and put it out there with all the great California groups of the 70's.

70's Cali
Good! that was when the best music came out of CA, hasn't been much to brag about since. Thanks for the listen.

Grabbin the Air
The best we could hope for indeed. Thanks for sharing this tune with us. Really enjoyed the steel. The thing might benefit from high harmony. The high lonesome sound is everything.

thanks Daug
I have a high harmony in there, but it's dialed back a bit in the mix. Or did you mean an even higher one? I guess I could put on some really tight pants...

Real deal
This is some real country, reminiscent of an earlier era of country before every song sounded the same. Jackson Brown California feel to it. Well worth reposting with the pedal, love it. Really good listen, already a couple of times.

about 2007 I received the gift of a presonus firepod. That launched me back into a love of music that I hadn't realized I'd been missing. Since then I've been writing and learning the craft of recording and mixing. I am now in two acoustic groups-... [see more]
