Description
The latest instalment in my project: Journey's End

Here, our protagonist has fought to the end and battled his way through the lands to save his people, but having suffered a lethal dose of poison crafted with black magic, every step he takes is a step closer to death. And so, he struggles up the mountain to the castle gates to bring news of his victory. This is his final journey.

I love the way you have doubled the flute and voice so they sound like oboes. Clever touch.

You're exactly right
I'm not sure they sound exactly like oboes, but well done for spotting the flute and voice doubles!

Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the fan!

Journey's End
Warm and welcoming. Not sure the castle looks all that homely, though... :-) Fine work. Thanks, Peter.

Thanks for the comment
It's not necessarily meant to be homely! What matters is the journey beforehand.

Challenges and Rewards
That's right .. it's the journey itself .. not the destination .. that's most important.

But .. is there an antidote to the dark magic poison waiting for him at the castle? And what about his girlfriend? (I'm just assuming there is a love interest.) Stayed tuned for the next installment : )

This is a big, bold project to undertake. I trust you are finding it challenging .. and rewarding.

When's the film coming out?
Really well put together and cinematic as dave says.
I'm sometimes put to my mind of something like Last of the Mohicans or The Mission. Those films with big rolling landscape shots.
Everything in it's right place ..and I usually don't like french horns but they sound good on this too
cheers

final deadline is the 19th dec
Thanks for the comment - I've seen the Mission, haven't seen Last of the Mohicans though. Big rolling landscapes is the aim though!

The horns are very subtle in this - perhaps that's what got them to just slide under your anti-horn radar! Thanks for the listen :)

A melancholic serenade...
What I like most about this piece are the low strings and the shading in volume you are able to achieve in your mix. You have some deft fingers on the dials! The vocal and flute together are quite nice, too, adding a bit of an unusual sound above the rolling percussion at the other end. Very nice build from 2:40 or so onward. This is just excellent in so many ways. What a pleasure to hear your work.
