Back From Outer Space (A Reflective Ambient Mix)

Well here I am after a good while without doing much music at all, even listening.

Dad died in August and with me starting out in a new business sphere (photography) I have been busy. Touch wood things are starting to settle into a routine of sorts.

This mix is a minimal effort, to get rid of some of the cobwebs of time. This pc is not my music pc but I just felt like mixing stuff again. I'll be returning to my music pc in the next few days.

I feel a lot better for getting this piece out. It's been a while.

Thanks for listening and for those positive vibes. They hit the spot nicely.

Take care.

Nice piece with an underwater kind of feeling. Much enjoyed.

Also, nice to see you back posting. More than I can say about myself, even if I also lost a parent this autumn.

Good luck with the new photography business. Sounds like good fun (at least if it's paying the bills at the same time :-/ )

Thanks and take care,

Hi Henke....
Sorry for your loss. It's not easy when someone close passes on.

Thanks for the good luck and it is good fun whilst taking the photographs but the backroom business and everything else is not so relaxing. Haha....

Take care, and I'm sure you'll compose when the ideas come to you.

Hi Paul, good to see you back and I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Both my parents have gone recently, so I know it's a difficult time.

I too have been taking a lot of photographs. Not as a business venture however, but that would be nice. Good luck with yours.

This is a really nice mix. It's like something I would do! I like the bell/vibes settings and have used them a lot myself. Good stuff and naturally, I approve!

Hi Dave.....
My condolences for your double loss. I can only begin to know, having lost dad in August.

Photography has been another hobby of mine for about the same amount of time as my electronic music but I've only been doing things properly for a couple of years. Taking bookings for weddings is OK but they are one to two years away, so not much cashflow initially. Such is life these days.

I see/hear what you mean with this being a mix you could have done. It's good to know you like it. I did wonder about it being 'melodically-inclined' as opposed to 'melodically-deficient' but thought that others could be the judge.

Take care.

Good to hear from you again, Paul. Sorry to hear about you Dad. Hopefully the twin creativities of photography and music can bring some light. Nice, gentle piece. Take care, Peter.

Hi Peter.....
Thanks for your kind thoughts. Some light is certainly getting through, its just the motivation to keep moving forward. It's coming but slowly.

Take care.

Hello Paul
Just maybe your grief has become art? I enjoyed this piece. Best of luck with the changes.

Hi Daug....
The 'grief has become art' is maybe true in some way but dad didn't like my music. He called it 'Enid Blyton Music' because it was about Sci-Fi, made-up stories. He was into tenors and baritones singing opera....Real music!!

Take care.

Hi John......
Thanks for the nice words and I'm happy that you enjoyed the listen. It makes everything worthwhile if someone liked it or was transported away for a few minutes.

Take care.

Interesting mix of sounds
I like the abstract sound coming from this. Improvs are usually the best in my opinion. on another note I am so very sorry to hear about your Dad. It's not easy losing someone close especially family. I lost my Dad at 25.

Sorry for the delay......
Just logged into Macjams to listen to Dave Jones's Cole Porter mix so thought I'd check my page...

I've pulled my life back together, helping mum cope after 61 years of living with someone and then that person leaving...

I might be back in the medium to long term....

Take care.

For some reason
When I hear your work I see colour. It sometimes happens whilst listening to other ambient works but almost always with your music. This has a rich contrast between the lead bell synths and the pads and so in my imagination brings forth various coloured forms against a dark green-blue background.

I hope you are able to find some time amidst the photography to work up a new ambient piece or two. Or three.

Thanks so much for this one. Downloaded with appreciation!
