Description
Our church's choir is all volunteer, and on Christmas Eve, it is made up of about 50% singers who have been here through the years, but have now moved on to college, larger cities, etc., but are home for the holidays. Last year, I did a two part arrangement of "Winds in the Olive Trees" and this year, I arranged "The Sussex Carol" also in mixed two part, with an optional alto line. The six bells are played by a mom and two jr high students, the men's part is being anchored by my husband and another excellent singer in our church. Everyone who wants to sing in choir comes 45 minutes early to practice, and then we sing for the service. This is the practice file I sent out to everyone who I knew is singing. I am singing all the parts, including the 'baritone' which is high enough for my jr high men to reach most of the notes, but not too high. The piano part is fairly easy, so I can play it without too much stress.

Anyway, happy holidays to everyone. I haven't posted here much because I am in the process of another project - I have begun self-publishing my two octave bell arrangements at J W Pepper and at Sheet Music Plus. If you know of anyone interested in this admittedly niche area, send them over, and then do a search for 'johanek' and I will come up as a composer, arranger and publisher on either site. It is not a reason to quit my day job, but it is gratifying to know that these arrangements are useful to other musicians.

Wow - you're singing all of the parts here? That's amazing. I didn't pick-up on that during the first listening, but then discovered it I read through your notes.
