The chaconne for violin (JS Bach's second partita, movement #5) has so much information in it that I decided to arrange it for recorder orchestra.

Here is the whole thing with follow-along score.

Excellent arrangement! Your recorders play through this like hot knives in butter.

Ambitious undertaking.
So many parts! It works well, tho. Bach's interwoven melodies and countermelodies really come across in this performance. Thanks for the D/L - it's a keeper.

I think title to V. Holmans comment...
... should end with "strikes Bach." Cause you do strike a striking sound with your recorder duet(?) of this Bach piece of music. Beautiful.

Bach to basics
He WAS and IS the absolute master. I'm pretty sure he would like your arrangement for recorders. It is nice to know that there are artists like you who continue to mine the riches of the classical masters and do so with such style and expertise.

If it ain't baroque...
The recorders certainly convey an authentic mood for Bach's chaconne. You have done a fine job of putting this all together. The parts weave together expertly. The lower and mid registers sound opulent and warm. A few of the louder high notes came across a touch strident to me, though. Minor nit. Thanks, Peter.

This is really wonderful Vic
somehow it sounds like the recorder was the intended instrument for this piece - it just seems perfect for the flow and energy. At times it sounds like a pipe organ in a really great way. You've really outdone yourself this time.
