Description
I've been absent from MJ for a number of weeks now, so I thought I would jump back into the frey with another of my piano numbers. 142 is the penultimate selection from my By The Numbers series, but I just got around to recording it this afternoon, so I thought I would post it. I hope you will enjoy the effort. And if you wish to see and/or play the score, it can be found here:

I love the lilting feel that comes partly from the ¾ time and partly from the dynamics of your playing. The subtle changes of pace add interest, too. A delight, Paul!

Interesting combination
Of waltz time signature and chord progressions. Nicely done, this has a lot of energy in places. I like the atonal progression at 2:02. Cheers welcome back :) -Chris

I always enjoy listening to the numbered pieces. Why do you not have an album/CD out? These are always terrific. 142 captures so many different moods, almost wistful in places and playful in others. To be able to maneuver in and out of these "feels" so effortlessly takes serious chops and and a composers mind. Excellent post, Paul.

142 and counting.
I'm convinced your well will never run dry, Paul, and what a blessing that is to us all. Oh, to be so prolific you have to resort to the numbering system! That's got to be every composer/songwriter's dream! Beautiful piece, Paul!

Yup, lilting
3/4 is a most attractive time signature, even for rock songs. This tune is delicate and masterful, as I have come to expect.

Others have already used words that spring to my mind when listening: lilting, capricious, wistful and playful. Wonderful, as always. Thanks, Peter.

Paul, I probably say this so much that you may think I'm really just an internet bot, but you play as though it requires no effort at all - you could be reading a copy of the Wall Street Journal while playing - it sounds THAT relaxed. This is a remarkable piece - very dynamic, and as always, a pleasure to listen to. Well done!
