Description
Short piece for five grand pianos. Inspired by the music for the remake of "The Thomas Crown Affair" and particularly "Black and White X 5" by Bill Conti. Sadly more of his piano music for that movie isn't available. Such is life.
I composed and performed this music in order to use it in a video, which it's timed to. The video is if you're interested available in various quality formats at http://semacode.org/about/apps/cases/2004_10_09/

This piece caught my attention, mainly because I am a fan of minimalism, of Steve Reich, John Adams, etc. The beginning was very interesting, showed some rhythmic promise, but I feel like the piece was just too short, too sketchy, and the fast piano line had the feel of a recording speeded up. I also feel like minimal works suffer when played on synthetic instruments, although piano less so than orchestral instruments. Anyway, good start, develop it a bit, and post more. Not much like your piece is happening on this site.
