Description
At last ............ a jiguma instrumental ;)
This has been sitting around since 2011 on various hard drives, and modified over the years. It has been sent out to various potential collaborators for comment, but because it doesn't really have room for much extra, kept coming back. Nevertheless, I still quite like it and thought I may as well post it and "move on".
The music is all midi, using modified loops and magic pencil to get the final result.
I have two new songs (from our time in Franche Comté) on the boil at the moment, and ideas for a third.
If anyone would like to add anything to this, feel free to experiment.
Cheers from Oz,
Neil

I like it, Neil. Good solid groove with punch. Makes a person want to get a guitar in their hands...

We have
a "Quiet Storm" late night jazz show here in ATL and this sounds like something straight from the playlist. If one's gonna use midi and/or loops, seems to work so much better when it's done musically and with some thought. Nothing about this sounds "random." There was a musical mind behind it.

thanks for listening - I never know when I do this sort of thing whether it makes musical sense, so I particularly enjoyed reading your comment.

Slow Beat
This sounds great. I like your vocals and lyrics, but I sure would like to hear more songs like this from you every once in a while. It kind of sets you in a different mood. That plucky guitar/synth really keep it interesting. Enjoyed much. Thanks.

Slow Beat To China
Uber cool 80's cop show theme, par excellence, Neil. Nice work getting the loops to blend together as a coherent whole. Interesting to see if someone can add to it without crowding it out. Nice mix. Thanks, Peter.

Instrumental !
You could do this more ! Enjoyed it alot very cool! however I find the drums a bit disturbing - too upfront - the rest I really like & wish it would take more space!! Real drums would make a big difference! Looking fwd to listening to Retro Plien - had no idea : )

Funky (China) Town
I like this one a lot Neil. The whole thing has a smooth as silk feel which just rolls off the ears like a light evening breeze. The bass line gives it the heartbeat of life, and the rest takes that energy and adds their own as they go along for the ride. Nicely done.

I do hear room for something that could compliment but I won't make any promises yet as the schedule is just too tight.

Nicely done. Cheers from the GWN.
