Description
I dusted off my old Rhodes in the basement yesterday and made it growl again. Wrote and recorded a song in the process. Thanks for listening.

Taking You Down
Growly tone sits well with the smooth and expressive vocal. Nice arrangement. An evening well spent!

Taking You Down
Atmospheric and soothing. Great to hear the Rhodes back in town. Quality vocal, as always, but I thought it needed a touch more volume in the first verse. Impressive work for one evening. Thanks.

This is Rhodes at its best ...
From the earliest opening bars, the texture and feeling of this piece is palpable.   And then it builds, but it builds gently and slowly, adding bits of musical interest one little bit at a time.

Kindly keep it “growling.”

Nice
Great keyboard sound - vocals need beefing up as noted elsewhere. This has a lot of potential as a full band piece.

Drums?
I think the vocals sit fine in the mix, but the drum is a bit loud for me. A slightly more subtle kick perhaps, not such a thump, more of a click. Really nice song though. Enjoyed that.

Weight of the world
You are the Colossus of Rhodes! (Sorry - it was a pun I couldn't stop myself from using.)

Your light touch is deceptive: it camouflages the heavy existential weight of the world that is crushing two lovers.

Quality
I like the overall minimalistic feel of the piece, and the haunting intro and ending. Great vocal and lyrics, as usual. Thanks.

good
composition skills. The build is really nice and the in and out driving drums excites me. I think you should publish thge song words with the post. I like to follow along. It ends just right. nice work.

Fenders rule!
The Rhodes sounds very nice, and in these days when you can dial in almost anything on a cheap keyboard, this sound seems elusive on most. We have an old Rhodes in The Shed that pretty much no-one ever plays - I must take the lid off some time and give it some quality time ;)
Beautiful vocal track and great result for a day in the basement.
Cheers from Oz,
Neil
