Calming and reflective for much of the journey, Vic. To me. that raised fourth scale (?) just intrudes on the mood a touch when the flute soars to the heights. I like the expanded arrangement. Not sure the picture is quite as calming... Thanks.

Breath
No attempt to hide my breathing. All the recorder parts are live. Guitar parts are looped sampler parts.

Very enjoyable, relaxing piece Vic. It will be no surprise to you that I have no idea of Lydian mode, but I plan to find out.
Lovely playing, arrangement and production. A most enjoyable listen.
Thanks,
Neil

Lydian
The drone is a C throughout, but the chord is more like a Gmaj7. Melodies use both Cmaj7 and Bmin7 (or something like that ) chord notes. So it's really a C scale with raised fourth. There is not a single F natural in the whole piece.

Lydian ... a very peaceful mode ... at least the way you paint with it ... I do enjoy the way it builds. Beautifully recorded and performed.
And the perfect first listen with my morning tea.

Restful
A pretty meditation indeed. I'm also busy looking up "Lydian", though I think I could play along without mucking it up.

Timbre
A nice meditation. Lydia would approve, even if the F's are unnatural.

Gentle and warm. Love the tone of the recorders and the way they intertwine. Beautifully done, Vic!

Drew me in...
This is unlike anything else I have heard you write and perform. The gentle accompaniment (a loop you say?) is almost like a mantra to me, your recorders taking on such a delicate life of their own, one in counterpoint to the other. There is something enchantingly mournful about how this plays itself out. The unrushed performance is just filled with peace...really, kind of a balm in music. Just a beautiful number in every respect, Victor.

Else
Thanks for commenting. I guess I don't write much for recorders and other instruments: I mostly do bunches of recorders by themselves. The accompaniment is not quite a loop but it's pretty repetitive. Right now it's 6 guitar parts but it can probably be condensed to 2 or 3.
