Reverie

Description
Still fiddling with different tunings. This one has a couple of tracks using my Maton FG100 steel string - standard tuning on the left and DADGAD on the right (capo on the 2nd fret). There's also some nylon string chords, a touch of mandolin and a bit of bass.

Maybe it needs a more defined melody? I might try that...

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!

Reverie
Flowing and serene. The Maton is sounding great and I like where the bass sits and what it contributes. Works wonderfully as a calming, reflective piece. Repetitive melody not required. Nice one. Thanks. Talk soon.

Thanks
The Maton was plugged in for this one so it has a just a touch of electronic fizz about it. I usually prefer a miked version, but this time didn't for no particular reason. Yes, I probably won't add anything - just move on to the next one! See you soon.

Perfect title
This is a very sweet, gentle, absolutely relaxing piece of music. Though it could be 15 minutes longer ;-) You play beautifully. I took a copy, with thanks.

Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it, Richard. 15 minutes longer? Maybe just put it on loop and it will sound much the same as what I would have played. :-) Thanks for the compliment of a download!

Thumps along nicely
Surprised by the blatant use of dissonance at the one minute point and later on the outro.
Why yer gonna get a reputation with all that howling voicing...
Really musical piece my friend, let the haters rage!

Glad you liked it. I'm still enjoying what I sometimes get using some standard chord shapes in alternate tunings. Thanks for stopping by.

Ah, dig in...
Take a look at what you have created in those parts I have mentioned. If you can escape the mechanical/physical chord shape grips an play with intension, those dips into real dissonance become routine and way more fun :) They are the modern compositional tools...

reverie is a good title. I just sat back and let this wash over me. Enjoyed the interplay of instruments and the lead melody. Bit of a sucker for DADGAD myself!. Cheers mark

Beautiful
Wow! Nice job Phillip. My kind of music. That little sement that starts at 1:20 is exceptionally nice. It took the tune in a new direction without losing the feel of the whole number. This is the kind of stuff you could put on a loop and listen to for hours as you went about your day's work.

I appreciate the comments, Tom. That section you refer to is using sort of the F chord in the DADGAD tuning (with the top string open) - I liked the sound of it, too. Thanks for stopping by.
