Lyrics
THE ONE [Buckley/Smith]

Let me crawl inside your fantasy
And I will help to sing your song
Let me pop your filter bubble
Who knows – we might just get along
From Dallas to Baton Rouge
we were swept along by love's deluge
From Detroit to Fond du Lac
I don't think we ever left the sack
Let me backstroke through your back story
Let's get stoned at your mother's picnic
Let me stroll through your crawl space
Let's get cloned at your father's clinic
Let's keep it simple
Let me pop your pimple
Here’s the point
I’ll be the one to bogart your joint

Let me run amok among your mangroves
Stick out your chin and bang the drum
Let's hang out with the scarecrows
and I’ll be the one to suck your thumb
From New Paltz to Poughkeepsie
your smile made me happy, your hairspray made me tipsy
From Seattle to Tacoma
love became a stage four melanoma
Let's leap atop some sadhu's funeral pyre
Let's ride a rhino before they all expire
Let's body surf the North Atlantic gyre
and I'll be the one to put the sigh in your desire
Let's celebrate the end of evolution
In the ignorance of bliss let’s fall off the ledge
Let's copyright life's only known solution
and I'll be the one to burn your bridge

Always unique.
You have such a unique sound that can only be traced back to you! It is always a pleasure to hear what you are thinking and how exactly you will pull it off with a musical arrangement. I like the rather quiet backing of the band when you are singing, but wish the volume were jacked up a bit during the instrumental bridge. There's some nice stuff there that, I think should be brought up front to enjoy. Don't know how you get that vocal sound, but it's pretty darned cool.

Personal expression
One always hopes personal expression is there when you put these things together. As cliche as it sounds, all I really do is trust my ear - that it tells you when something is working, or more importantly when something is not working when experimenting with the mix of sounds. Getting all of the levels right? That can be tricky. It may also be beyond my skill level : )

Entertaining lyrics (well, maybe not the squeezed pimple image...). Characteristic bright guitar tone and riffy style. Lots of fun to be had listening to this, Warren! Amusing graphic, too.

Tone
Admittedly, that squeezed pimple is graphic. Perhaps I should have checked the "explicit" box?

It's funny how we gravitate to certain guitar tones. I notice that when I'm searching through pre-existing settings there are certain sounds and effects I reject out of hand, whereas others may or may not be acceptable for the current project. Perhaps I should force myself to work with those I always spurn, just to see where rejection could lead to?

Very strange!
But I LIKE it! Clever lyrics... delivered well.

Enjoyed your subdued guitar soloing too!

Be well friend!

One or the other
Yes, I'm guilty of either being strange or clever, but certainly not of both.

Well I just happened to be searching on the keyword of Fond du Lac and it came up with this little gem. Fantastic stuff.
You must have some great parties at your place Warren.

Inquiring minds want to know
That just makes me want to know why you were googling Fond du Lac in the first place.

Dystopian
I think I have remarked in the past how much you sound like the Residents. In sound and spirit.

Enjoyed.

Warren,
This would be great as an opening track for the new rock opera. Marvelous, you are. Thanks.

What evocative word-images, Mr. Warren! I read them before listening. At that point you had already won me. Enjoyably enjoyed this. Thanks...

Reading the lyrics before listening? That's an unusual approach. I appreciate the extra attention : )
