Description:
Words & Music by RCAndrews, used with permission

Recorded live (lined out from an ancient Traynor PA system) at a benefit in the wilds of Eastern Ontario

Performed by snowdragon: after the rain & thunder

Lyrics:
Anymore

Mama was a ball buster daddy was a crop duster
Sista hopped a train lookin fo 'er lackluster
last time she saw it it was fadin in the rain

I'm a six string hack walkin a rail road track
One stroke closer to a heart attack
Anymore these days are strange

Anymore i'm not sure what im doin or why im here for

Feelin like n old soul beat down like a hobo
Toolin a long tryin to make it through tomorrow
Reelin from the years in the cold

Havin lots of fun head toward the sun
I ain't foolin no one cryin through the sorrow
Healin takes time n it's slow

Anymore i'm not sure what im doin or why im here for
Anymore i'm not sure what im doin or why im here for

I'm a fan of Robs music, he's a great musician with a
talent for writing great lyrics too.

Nice cover version Snowdragon. I like your voice and you
sing this really well with some great harmonies..

Wow, thank you.
And I agree wholeheartedly about Rob's stuff. I think it's only a matter of time
before some outfit picks him up.

Live or memorex? &mdash 03/27/05 - 06:06:49 AM
Excellent cover. Exceptional vocal. I would lose the canned
applause going in and out, though. For me, it detracts
from an otherwise genuine performance. Gives it an 'as
live' feel. (In broadcast news, what we used to call a 'look
live.') Why not just used the actual room sound?

That aside, great job.

Nice song &mdash 03/27/05 - 07:49:23 PM
Faultless song and performance, but I gotta tell ya, the
applause at both ends is really cheesy and fake sounding.
It really hurts my ability to take it very seriously.

Very nice introduction. Love your low voice, honest
straightforward presentation, perfect folk performance.
I'm not sure why the disclaimer spoken line at the
end. Classic songwriting and great folk lyrics, RC.

Atwood, Troy, Tobin,
dully noted all. Believe it or not, it's comments like these I'm hoping for when
I put up a tune. Ask RC.
cheers

It's just a take off on Eric Claptons Knock Knock On heavens door, But I still kind of liked it anyways.

You have a great voice. This is the stuff I love. This and blues. Sounds true, man. That is the most importnat thing to make happen, and you did it.

The strength of folk music &mdash 04/21/05 - 06:39:24 AM
Love your voice. The low range, the way it sounds like
your singing just to me, that the story is yours, and true. I
wish more men would sing low. Singing through sadness
with no self-pity. This is the strength folks and blues can
give. Thanks.

Thank you Eve. RC wrote the story, but the more I sing this song, the more
personal it becomes. And with the number of comments I've been getting
urging me to sing in the lower register, I think I'm starting to get the
message. Thanks again.

This is one fine tune. You have such richness in your low voice. Years traveled. Fine, fine.

Loved the vocals, loved the guitarwork, loved the lyrics, loved the spoken
intro up front. Beautiful job.
