Fire In The House (Remix)

Get Flash to see this player.

Description
This is the remix that passed my JBL test:

I'm leaving the first one up for comparisons should you have nothing better to do :)

Lowered vox reverb and volume levels
Evened out backing harmonies with main vox
Various instrumental tweeks
Included a multi track compression which I think tightened up the entire song...no big booming.
JBL's are now happier

This song is about...you'll get it. Fire in the House features PGreenstones guitar skills. He exceeded my expectations. I can't thank him enough for the numerous listens, feedback and creating that unique guitar sound, not to mention 5 different takes to assess. He's truly a class act and fine musician.

Thank you Alimar, AClark, Mystified and Slimmie for encouragement and suggestions, not to mention hearing this so many times.

"Fire in the House" has two drummers as well as an additional percussionist. I began this song around 8 months ago and put it aside as all I had was a basic idea and groove. After dusting it off it took on new life. The vocals are 3 part harmony and yes, I sang them amazingly...of course getting it right took time. I'm still learning!

I hope you enjoy this song as much as I do. Your votes and comments are always appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The artwork is crafted by our very own ALIMAR. It's entitled Silver and Soul....I fell in love with it and asked if I could use it for this song...he insisted! Thanks again Al.

Lyrics
I'm so infatuated with your love
I'm so infatuated with your love
(underneath harmonies-burn baby burn there's fire in the house)

Chorus:

Molten lava runnin through my viens oh yea
There's only you my baby to suppress the flames

Hose me off Cool me down
Before it starts all over again
Inferno it's out of control

Another wave of desire
Crusin through my body again
The wind rushes in
And starts all over a again

Yea I'm on Fire
Yea There's fire in my house
I can't live without your love baby love
I'm on Fire

I'm honored...
...that I was able to hear this from the beginning. Your
progress from a simple beat and rhythm, through all
those musical changes, really comes off as a superb
production and a half! I can see your musical roots shining
through. Tony Banks would be proud. I know you worked
hard on the vocals. PG, that guitar is perfect for this piece!

Good mix revisions. Sounds even better now, Synco. I
enjoyed hearing this develop and enjoyed the challenge of
playing the guitar part.

Sorry ... still waking up. Cleaned? I meant remixed slightly. I see
my vote took your song to the weekly pick list. In case you don't get a chance
to see it and it changes -
You're #1 with a rating of 9.01. Congrats!

Nice mix and it was cool that you could get David Gilmour
to play guitar for you. I wasn't too jazzed by the tone of
the vocals relative to the content, tho'. You're singing
about being molten but the tone is mostly like Marin
County. Your voice has a good sound. It just seems to
me that the lyrics would be more appropriate to a rock
tune or some such.

I thought for sure
I had already commented on this again... oh well. Synco-
great song here. Thanks for all the listens- it's awesome
to see how others go about making a song. It was
especially cool watching this song develop and progress.
Chester and Phil would be especially proud of the accurate
drums on this!

Even MORE Genesis 1984 than the last version
Give Darryl a raise.

There is SO much going on in this, yet nothing gets lost or
stumbled over.

The drums do seem a bit boomy to me though . . .

Next!

Big production!
Great job, Synco. You really are a master arranger. Your
stuff is so interesting to listen to. This one in particular.
The layers all blend so seamlessly. And the chord
progressions are very original. Nice guitar work PG. Well
done.

Quintessential soft rock sound

You have captured the soft rock sound in this track.
Nice, light easy feel through-out the piece. And pg's
guitar riffs are just perfect here. You are no longer
John Travalto, but slowly morphing into... hmmm?
Michael McDonald?
Any hoo, great overal musicscape!

Molten lava
I love the way you say "molten lava" -- something really
appealing about it. The whole chorus is going to be
running through my head for days! Great job

Pleasing song construction
I especially like the drumming/percussion and damn that's some nice guitar playing pgreenstone! You could maybe cut loose with more emotion in the vocals, but it's way better than I'd be able to pull off. Cool! --D
