shades of AIC
well, that's what i hear with the overdriven bass and vocal harmonies.
the keyboard solo i wasn't expecting but it fits in perfectly.

Hey Vic
I used a little Kontakt library called Tube Organ for the keys. It's been sitting around forever and I figured I'd finally put it to use. Hooked up my ancient Oxy8 keyboard and pounded out some simple lines, then pieced them all together. Thank goodness for quantizing!

Reminds me Smashmouth
and that's a great compliment. I wasn't sure about the fuzz bass at first but it kinda grown on us. Nice!

Smashmouth!
When I saw the "sounds like" on the song post page, I couldn't think of anybody, but SM would have been an excellent fit.

Driving
Oh I could imagine driving down an open road at night with the streetlights flashing past listening to this.Sounds great and beefy in the headphones. Much enjoyed. Cheers. Mark

Thanks Mark
I was in a trashy mood and wanted to do mix something loud and filthy. I think I succeeded. :D

Underneath the distortion lies quite a melodic song. Great chorus. I am gonna grab another listen.

Yeah
I do so many "nice" mixes that I just went "mean" and overcooked for the fun of it. Appreciate it Dean.

You continue to demonstrate your ability to make excellent music in a range of styles, Sammy. Impressive.

This
is closer to what me and my old band used to do. Except they would have never have allowed that organ (I think). We were just raw with no fluff.
The next song I post will be a complete 180 jazzy tune. Like 30s or 40s jazz. Hows that for range? haha

Graham. My guitars were gathering too much dust. Had to do something about it.

Punk
Are you sure you didn't forget the distortion on the keys?

I think I like the distortion on the guitar solo much better than whatever is on that first rhythm guitar. Around 2:20 it sounds like even the drums is overdriven, but maybe that's because the bass comes in with it?

Anyway, cool song.

Love everything about this - the heaviness, the vocals and the pure, driving rocking ness of it all.

Killer track.

Downloaded.

Yeah man this is fantastic. I'd listen to an album full of this stuff. Lead work is crazy good but the vocals are also right on. Fun, fun, fun.
