Haunting...
The music for the opening of the quietly dystopian film for which the artwork is a still...the hiss of steam that makes for steampunk, becomes gradually tonal, meditative and melodious...

I
listened to this after breakfast with the phones on and my eyes closed. Took me to a netherworld. Great inspirational music for writing (prose).
Matter of fact, I'm downloading for just that reason.

Drone
Quite a combination: evokes dread, loneliness, wonder, peace & resolve, sort of in that order. All in all, a beauty. DLed and thank you.

Interesting...
Drones are fairly easy however making them "interesting" is quite the job. I'm a fan of the drone and you've managed to spark my interest. Nice work.

Enjoyed, Thanks for the most interesting drone journey.

Shawm
No, don't have no shawms. This is indeed a flute, to be precise a renaissance bass flute. Extremely obscure instrument. I'm using a split signal path where on the one side I turn the flute into a drone and freeze that in place (and then through an octave divider and reverb), and on the other side it just uses a lot of delay.

In past lives, VicDiesel was a country fiddler, a shawm player at the Burgundy court, bellows pumper for JS Bach, Geoff Emerick's factotum, and a beggar playing drums in the streets of Calcutta for alms. Unusually, the memories of all that co... [see more]
