Winter Waitingland

Description
Much much different than my first MJ submission so be warned!
This song deals with the monotony of winter and the cabin fever that starts to swell inside while waiting for winter's end.
I categorized it under progressive/art rock but i was going for more art than progressive, plus they didn't have a "illustrative instrumental rock" category.

Great playing
Great playing. Love the sounds you get from your axe.
Really nice. Way better than the loops. Nice use of drum
kit grooves, again. Your playing is just so good, so
evocative, so full of life. Love the guitar layers you throw
on.

guitar is nice
I like the guitar. What I like about the guitar is that it has
depth :) Your licks seemed to be well placed. I like the
bending strings in harmony. Then it gets even more
interesting with the faster leads. Good going :)

Nice ending as well

I echo the comments on the guitar...
...excellent work. Not a lot to say except I really enjoyed
this piece.

Nice geetar
Love this sort of prog rock stuff, nice playing. Couldn't
quite connect it with anything wintery, but great track
anyway.

Good guitar work
Initially I was afraid that this was going to be yet another
"plaster loops after each other" piece like there are too
many on this site -- those three loops you use in the
beginning have zero relation to each other, or to the rest
of the piece -- but the guitar playing made up for a lot.

At about 1/3 there is a bit of a weak spot, where the
guitar drops out. Since the accompaniment doesn't do
anything interesting at that point, I don't see the purpose.

The way you build up the guitar parts after that is
beautiful though. Very well played and arranged.

TN VIC...
Those three loops I use at the beginning?
The first loop is some world beat instrument.
The second loop is a guitar loop I made.
Then a drum loop comes in with a bass loop i made.
The drums, bass and guitar all continue to play for the rest of the freaking song. Only that weird world instrument has no relation to anything else in the song. So, you got one out of three....not bad.
You also believe there is a weak spot 1/3 of the way through the song. You say it's weak cuz nothing interesting is happening. Let me explain something to you Vic...the title of this song is Winter Waitingland. I wrote this piece to express my boredom with winter. Sounds to me like I achieved that goal. You are right in saying nothing interesting is happening 1/3 of the way through...but don't you dare say it is weak! I make you wait in the song....just like winter makes me wait and just like I made you wait 2 years to read this reply to your comment! That's the difference between a craftsman and an artist. Art doesn't always have to be interesting....it merely needs to elicit a response....which this piece did. Happy Winter VIC!
