Description

Now and then for the past 10 years, I have had a part-time job at the Nordstrom clothing store in downtown Indianapolis, as a pianist. I used to make recordings of myself, with my MiniDisc deck, so that I could critique myself after my shift.

One day a group of young men who were in town for a church convention stopped at the piano, and requested "Amazing Grace." You can hear a little bit of the guys in the background. This is from July 2002.

When you play some of the same tunes again and again in live performance, it really forces you to reflect so many aspects of your performance. It has been a growth experience.
