hi &mdash 04/04/05 - 03:16:09 PM
This is really nice, inspiring! I especially like the sort of Latin more-upbeat section in the middle with the double stops, felt like that could have gone on longer, but it's all good.

I guess I can't get over studying some of Rodigo's music..

Thanks again

Nice Stuff &mdash 04/07/05 - 12:04:57 AM
I got a guitar from a rummage sale for $40 and another one for $100 from a
fellow who advertised in the want ads. Keep your eyes open!

Sebelius meets Segovia &mdash 04/06/05 - 10:02:15 AM
Such a nice work, and it is great to see you perfecting the
mix like this. The orchestra is still a bit far away from the
guitar, but doesn't bother me this time; everything seems
placed in a satisfying place. Love the Sebelius meets
Segovia street corner feel to the whole thing, like a
troubadour finally getting his day in concert. Intimate and
subtle.

I think Tobin inspired me. I wanted to make the ending less loud. Plus, I
installed some more violins. I am happier with the ending. I found some nice
percussion that I didn't notice before.

Sorry for the double post. Camino has been acting weird. But this piece is so great the comment bears repeating! :-)

Grand compositions &mdash 04/07/05 - 12:14:11 AM
You approach this symphonically. You have a good sense
of interplay between the instruments, The Jam Pack stuff
is still a little synthetic sounding but overall I like the
improvements here. One of the things I am careful to
check for is late entries on some of the orchestral
instruments, like the violins, which sort of gently "ooze
in". I sometimes slide a region a titch to the left of the
measure markers to get the timing right.

Love that arpeggio.

So, which came first -- the Jam Pack soundbed or the
guitar soloing?

Grand compositions &mdash 04/07/05 - 03:30:11 PM
I drew inspiration from hearing the Jam Pack 4 music. Some of the guitar
stuff I did, was kind of complicated for me to reproduce. I tried to play the
first part were I played a two note lead (two notes at the same time). I still
can't figure out how I did that exactly :)

Thanks Richard for commenting.

Influential &mdash 04/07/05 - 08:41:14 PM
I'm real impressed with your tracks. You to have a great
touch. Especially some of your right hand technique. I'm
new at MacJams (1 track) I've never had the oppurtunity to
really listen to classical guitar until I stumbled into
MacJams and some of your songs. My first song was
influenced by your work! It's rather simple, not on your
level. Thanks for being out there.

Great acoustic sound &mdash 04/08/05 - 01:51:08 AM
Love the acoustic guitar sound and the playing is excellent
(as it is on all the tracks I have heard by you). I think the
orchestral backing works really nicely - never overwhelms
the guitar melody

Great acoustic sound &mdash 04/08/05 - 06:56:53 AM
Thanks,

It was fun to do this, I love the setting that an orchestration can give.

After working on a piece by Juan Rodrigo, it was a concerto. It really excited
me to play in a symphonic setting. Even if it is only loops:)

Thanks

I had a lot of fun composing it, even if there was a lot of loops involved.

There was a bunch of overlay guitar playing though.
