Lyrics
The Never Ariving

There are words
in this world
some in books
come alive in us

there are those
there are betrayals
and someone
never arriving

there’s people
who live alone
a home
never knowing

watching life
where that life
must be going
never arriving

I love the way
the water feels
Is it swimming
is it crying

just dripping here
through trees
This wetness
forever weeps

standing on the skin
of perfect words
perfect friends
connecting, accepting

There are words in this world
some awake in us
some come alive in us
some are just arriving

Great Trak
Evocative of guys like Taj Mahal and Richie Havens. Thick
beefy backing going on. Good stuff.

Nice 60's feel to this track
I really like the song and the vocals, my only criticism
would be that the rhythm guitar sounds a bit dry and loud
in the mix at times. Great tune and performance though

First of all, I am a fan of this song
But I much prefer the original version over this one and here's why. I feel like
the changes you have made have taken some of the energy and grit out of
piece. Especially the reverb in the vocals. I agree with what chikoppi said of
your first version:

My knee-jerk reaction is to suggest you add depth to the production
- fill
out the guitar with EQ and reverb, fatten up the percussion, etc. But I think
too much of that would undo the intimacy of the piece.

Don't get me wrong. I still love this song. The soaring vocals in the water
section are wonderful. I just feel like it's too polished up now. Sorry, I doubt if
that's what you wanted to hear.

Great tune. Still one of my favorites.

First of all, I am a fan of this song
Thanks all for the the great compliments.

Both versions are the same exact tracks, just mixed differently. Funny how
the guitar in version one sounds more spontaneous and rushed, and the
second version sounds "polished." Personally, I think I like the "sound" of the
guitar (it's a Fender acoustic, BTW) on the first one, but the "performance" of
the guitar on the second mix. Yes, I know, it's the same dang guitar!

Does anyone else think the bass on #2 is a bit - well - too up front? (Yep, the
bass is a keyboard!) To me it sounds great in the context of what's being
produced today, but I think that the original bass mix will stand up better in
the long run.

Enjoyable
tune, though I prefer the first version. Seemed more
spontaneous.

Like this one too
Is this a coincidence. I hear Tull again. You should do something about the recording of your voice, make it sharper. But the setting is beautiful, aspecially the acoustic intermezzo
